Hey
Im looking at buying a new bike for about $3000
im only 16 weigh 60kilos and im only 160cm tall so im short.
im starting to get into 24 hour races and polaris events.
but i also love to get out at meni in sydney and do some fum single trail with drops and steep downs and small tech riding.
ive been looking at the kona dawg and the jamis dakar alt 2.0 but im not quite sure just wondering if any one had any ideas on the best one to buy or another one that they would recomend.
im only light so i prob wont break the bike so i can go light.
thanks reas

well im not sure how hard your wanting to go... but maybe look at some of the mid range giant trance or reign bikes?

but if your leaning more towards the xc side... get an avanti agressor 2005 model... thats my dream xc bike lol

anyway sorry if i wasnt much help, good luck with it!

I think an Enduro (the old style 03-04 ones) would be perfect for you. I loved mine, and it seems to fit the bill.

if your doing 24hr and adventure races, definetly go the dually option (no offence davo, i quite like the agressors too). but seeing as how your quite light and not so tall, there might not be a need for anything over 80mm front and 3 inch rear. anything more and it might be getting to heavy/akward to handle :)
