well i was going to reply earlier but i wanted to remember your name.
... so... great bike nath, im sure you'll rip up on it after seeing what you can do on the hardrock.

30-05-2005, 07:03 PM
cheers dude,
the e13???
there's a story behind that, before i could pedal grind, i did all bashy grinds... i needed something good to grind on... e13 it was! they sent me that size, its for like a 42tooth, i ordered one for a 32tooth. i just couldnt b botherd sending it back... its great to grind on, smooth, wears well, and u can just switch it round 3 more times once you have flat spotted one bit!
once i get the new bmx cranks i will be running a 24 or 26 tooth macneil sprocketand bash guard combo, as im not as dependant on the bashy to grind now i do pedal grinds as well!

Not many people would notice but those bars are cut down so short. They are only about 20" wide. also word up for Nathans(rollie) first rail grind. you should also see the size of the ding on the down tube.

ahh you can't switch it round due to the slot for the cranks... didn't really think that one through eh, smarty?

oh and nice ride.. kinda similar type of setup as i'll be runnin soon...

30-05-2005, 07:28 PM
actually nath has already swapped it round and it works.

30-05-2005, 09:34 PM
lol, yeh kalem, if you check out the bashy, the crank cutout is not behind the crank arm(dunno if u can see that much detail tho) if it didnt fit, i was just gonan cut it out till it did, but the cranks clear it by 2/3mm so its all good!

How does the rear brake and horizontal dropouts work. Surely having the rear brake fixed in one position on the frame and vertical dropouts means there is only one position in the dropout you can run the wheel to get optimum braking. Doesn't this defeat most of the advantage of horizontal dropouts if you arn't running single speed.
rollie87
31-05-2005, 08:49 AM
if im not running ss.....?????
did ya look at the pics..... im running ss..... 32/17.
and yes i guess the whole brake thing MIGHT be true, but i have yet to see a big differance from front of drop-outs to back of em...
btw, you dont need huge braking power on street anyway, well, you only need it in short bursts, or just to lock the rear wheel, you dotn need it to slow urself up from 50k( well u do sometimes but thats not main point) so massive feel and modulation etc really dont matter to me, i couldnt give a shit, as long as it can lock the rear wheel, i just ride the bloody thing!

sweet ride, pretty much exactaly what i am trying to build . . minus the massive bashie ..lol
have fun on it!
rollie87
31-05-2005, 05:52 PM
same down to the frame???
im trying to find out if anyone else has a revell, apart from sponsored riders... anyone else in qld got one???
also, once i get the new cranks, there wont b a massive bashy, just a tiny 28 or smaller tooth sprocket with bmx bashy,

p.s. gettin better all the time these days, other day it was hitting up like 90 degree turns on a hip to fakie out,
today its nailing rail grinds, manualing round the outside of the skatapark and dropping into the bowl, my first spine transfer(yay!) and boosting hip transfers and clearing the coping by a fair amount now :D

Your bike is sick, imo i have profiles and a tuffneck ss hub save up and get profiles instead of tuffnecks or if u get tuffnecks remebr to put something on them to stop rubbing the paint on the rubs really easily ive had my profiles for about 6 months and hasn't rubbed abit.
What are the forks like i was looking into these thinking about geting some. Are they really soft or does the air asist let u make them hard. I was trying sprocket grinds the other day (without a bashie) half of my chian and sprocket was left on the ledge. Revvels are sick i know a guy wiht one.
rollie87
02-06-2005, 09:20 AM
hehe, yeh, the bashie does save ur chain/ring etc, lol. with the whole crank thing, i dont mind bout paint coming off, just looks like u ride more :D, also, i havnt really heard a bad thing bout the toughnecks... AND i can get a ti spindle model for cheaper than the profiles... anyway, if i wasnt to get the TN, i would be looking at the strictly bitch cranks next, or odyssey 41 thermals...
forks..... well i have had a problem with mine straight from day 1, not holding air pressure... so i have just been pumping em up to... ALOT so they r basically rigid and the only way to compress em, even an inch is to fully jump on them, this seems to last a few days before the air is gone, but i will be sending them back when i get time/can go without a bike etc. other than than, awesoem fork! cept for the rebound adjuster on the bottom right leg! DUH! i had to tape a headset spacer around it so it cant get hit as when im dong rail grinds the bottom right fork leg some times comes down on the rail, and with the spacer there now, i can actually grind on the bottom of the fork leg as well as the crank/pedal :D i should take a pic and post it to show ya's wot i mean!
p.s. sorry, they are called manatou stance statics, great for the price!

Compact and neat street rig..mmmmmm

Nice bike. have ridden a friends. but...
please dont run a macneal bash ring. they are UGLY and i have hard of them bending over the chain/teeth. go RNC, tree, profile, just about anything with a bolt on plastic bashy. i had a tree on my bmx and it was sweet. about 8mm thick aluminium and light as hell. never herd of one breakin or bending.
rollie87
06-06-2005, 12:05 AM
lol, yeh, although the rnc is like twice the price, i think i will probs get it, looks schmick, weighs nothing, is titanium... and yeh, it just looks sooo sexy!
should b sorting this crap out in the next couple of weeks! also, i MAY ( bout 50/50 chance) have enough $$$ left to ge ta new rear hub/rim :D yay for me, my bike is ALMOST complete :D

10-06-2005, 01:13 PM

yes it does, had that problem with mine cos i wanted it in short. but i got used to having the wheel midway in the dropouts and its sick now.

i have never really played round with settings too much, but i do know way out the back of the dropouts is SHIT!
i now have mine probably 2/3 to the front of the dropout( or between halfway in the DO and the frnt of the DO) and its a really good spot, manuals, like i have said, are a little harder to control, once you get it, you can stick em all day long!

yeh, i found the exact same thing, a little hard to get the bike up but really balanced when u do, they are so nice in the air and at the skatepark too, atn first i struggled to spin, but once you get used to it its super ncie.

lol spot on toby, i went from a specialised hardrock ss, to the revell, i could manual all day long on the ss, it just seemed to have a real sweet spot, soooo easy t omanual on. the revell however takes a little bit more concentration, but it just feels sooo nice :D
p.s. at the end of the year( i have talked to black phoenex bout this) once we get the 300S(street) frame here in aus, im probably gonna upgrade to one of them :D just like Anson Wellington :D:D:D:D
how does it ride street with such long stays kinda etch.
i was lookin at the frame a while back but the stays made me feel sick 16.5.
give me some <15.5 :) BLKMRKTINC.

12-06-2005, 12:09 AM
how does it ride??? bloody awesome!
like i said how i have my wheel set up in the DO, its awesome to ride on street, i would b more worried about the head angle than stay lengths... but i love the steep'er than most angle :D, and no the stays dont feel crap/too long, they feel great! tho, im hoping the 300street will have more street suited geo when we get it...

here are teh new additions :D
tufneck cranks, RNC 30t sprocket and bashy, and shadow conspiracy chain :D ahhhhh yeeeehhhhh....... is smooth as a baby's bottom now :D,
im lovin it :D

also, held a black market in my hot little hands today..... to tell you guys the truth, i was a little dissappointed... i mean, it had big square stickers on it... looked tacky, design was ok, nothing super special, except this one had vert dropouts! dunno why on a bike like that, so, to sum up, yeh,
they are nice, but honestly it didnt seem to have much over the revell in terms of weight/looks /finish etc, one cool thing tho, on the box, the "R" in BLKMRKTINC was a handgun on its side :D COOL :D, lol.
(no offense to any blackmarket riders, its a nice bike, just mabye not as much as i have heard some people talk them up)

well, more updates,
after rooting my rear hub yesterday, i have decided its tiem to upgrade the rear wheel as well!!!
on order and should be here tomorrow is...
TUF-NECK casset 12mm hub
atomlab trailpimp rim (both 36hole)
and to finish the bike off(almost, like 99%there!) a set of ciliensky pedals :D in the baby blue/glow in the dark colour if its available :D
oh, and a holy roller for the rear as the hookworm, while good, is just too damm heavy!
this just leaves bars to urpgrade... im probably gonna get pro-tapers, but im hesitent as i will be cutting them down really REALLY narrow...
cyas.
p.s. i will upload some complete bike pics once the wheel is in!
very neat dude i no what you mean about the bashy and grinding problem it happened to me :)
rollie87
20-06-2005, 04:52 PM
yah, i kill two birds now, i do nearly 90% pedal grinds these days, as with a smaller bashy, it will damage my frame if i bash grind to much( frame already has a few small pea sized dints on chainstay just behind cranks from grinding :()
however, the RNC, (as i found out the other night) lights up the night sky if i grind on it :D:D:D ahhhh titanium :D
p.s. should try to get a few pics of night spark-ige :D
rollie87
25-06-2005, 03:50 PM
update,
new rear wheel,
tuf-neck SS hub with trailpimp rim :D:D
well, i thought it was almost complete, but alas, a bike is NEVER complete!
i have now decided that along with the final upgrades (protaper bars, odyssey pedals and another holy roller) i will upgrade the brake... im looking at either avid juicy 5's, or a deore lever hooked up to a saint caliper, either way it will have a goodridge braided line.
:D and, heaven forbid, towards the end of the year, if my forks havnt been fixed by then/if there is anything we can do about em, a set of sherman jumpers, and once its available in aus, the revell 300S(street) frame :D:D:D
so its really only just begun :D:D:D
p.s. i will get some new pics in the next couple of days!

that is a sik ride u have there...i have always admired those frames
rollie87
27-06-2005, 11:37 AM
just a update pic of my bike :) with new rear wheel :D
im also, (yes MORE STUFF) thinking about going rigid forks for the front... im thinking for what im doing, they would be better suited than forks of any kind... but im still looking into pros/cons of this tho :)
enjoy!

27-06-2005, 12:18 PM
That is well sick.
Love the idea of rigid forks. Should tighten up the handling a bit. I perfer a sus fork (gives you the off road option) but, if your on the street all the time it should work for you.
Cheers

28-06-2005, 10:34 AM
yeh im thinkin botu it hey, cos now i have pretty much a complete bike with all my bits from my old hardrock that i can build up, SO once i have tha tdone, i can make the revell a dedicated park bike, i.e. rigid forks, and run no brakes, it'll be just liek a big bmx :D
rollie87
07-07-2005, 11:26 PM
after shattering my right pedal after eating shit doing the massive downrail at woodridge skatepark, i got a pair or blue ciliensky pedals, i recken the blue looks killer :D
