hey guys well i just got outa hospital 2days ago from a broken leg with 2 breaks. I got a full leg cast from my toes to my dam ass on for 10 weeks.
I didnt break my leg at thredbo or dargle, lithgow, pacific park or even canberra it happened AT THE FRONT OF MY HOUSE. this really sucks.
Well i got to go for a xray on friday then if the breaks arnt in place proberly i got to have surgery for a plate and screws....but better yet im turning 16 next month to get my L's.
i should be back racing again in about 5 to 6 months after a bit of practise walking again.
so for the guys out their who had broken thier leg or legs before, what did you do for those long weeks?
cheers tim
it wasn't me who broke his leg but my mate did while riding his WR250F. he is off work at the moment so he bums around at home doing basically nothin. all he does is watch DVD's and plays his X-BOX all day. when he does come outside he watches us ride he just cry's in boredom!
but, im assuming your still at school so it will be ok since you leave the house everyday staggering around on crutches. the really shit thing is that you can't RIDE!!! (Duh!)

get a wheelchair and practise wheelies, then stalls, 1 handers, no handers, stair bashing, 180's
or become some full nerd at PC games
or just get fat :p

Every time I've done a big injury it's been when i was dicking around outside my house doing something pissy - never going for something big...

play some of those internet games posted in General (or possibly non-mtb).
the BMX one has me slightly hooked.
you could easily spend weeks getting the perfect score!

I was run over by a car in late july last year and broke my leg aside from numerous other parts of my body.(some how my piece of shit P3 survived the entanglement) I saved money by purchacing booze in 4 litre containers (goon) and six months later, when i was out of plaster and finally back on my feet i got me a v10with the money i saved on goon. the thought of the bike kept me alive.
Ps. dont forget about mrs palmer, shes always great fun on a dreary day

i broke my ankle in three places, seven weeks ago now. plaster came off last week, but i still can't walk on it, and won't be able to for another month yet. it's annoying at times, but you'll get used to it.
i recommend: broadband internet (too much fucken farkin!), ps2 (although i can't do console games anymore...) and lots of mtb dvds.
actually, it's funny how time flies when you're bored shitless.

I broke my collarbone and wrist at the same time so you should all count yourself lucky that you were able to get dressed. Plus i had to have two operations on the collarbone.
You will probably find out who your true mates are as they will be alwyas checking up on you and trying to organize socail activties around you.i went and watch my mates ride and bit, it good me out of the house and killed some time.I tried to keep active so i didnt gain weight but in your case that could be hard. Oh and if you have a plate put in they will probably give you some stong painkillers none of this weak ass pandine forte shit. They gave me this pills called endone, damm they were good

do wat Jared said (Rando) in the nu AMB, trail all the other muscles you own (upper body i guess). do heaps of it, it'll keep you awake and active, and when you get back on the bike u wil be better. also, y not go on a diet? or do the opposite and learn how to cook well? or find out about a different launguage? or start your own business? or do some extra stuff for whatever your occupation is and get yourself a raise? or learn so much about the science of mtb bikes that SC will be hiring you as cheif designer any second? or learn to play an instrument? or become an actor? or singer? or how about you download shitloads of music? or you could always see how many days you can stay drunk for....
then again, you could just sit down, watch tv, drink beer, eat, sleep, and drink beer. but then thats a bit of a waste of time isn't it?
Chow,
and hope that the breaks heal faster than expected

maybe you could get a nice camera and get into photography, and if you dont like it sell it after the 10 weeks.
