G'day Rob and welcome to Farkin, great to have you on board! Just thought I'd drop you a line in regards to spelling and grammar. The Admins and mods try to keep a certain standard on the forums which consists of no SMS/MSN talk (It's a forum, not a phone), use of puntuation and spellcheck/proof reading is encouraged. Following these guide lines will keep you safe from flaming and spelling Nazis (like me).
As for tracks, I know of many in the Baulkham Hills, Parramatta and surrounding areas. But they're not Downhill tracks, more flowey and technical single track. If this kind of thing interests you at all, let me know and I'll post some details for you ;)
*Awaits flaming for any spelling/grammatical errors in my post :o

Yeah, Penno park and thornleigh oval for rock gardens, north epping and cheltenham for singletracks, and all the access roads for tempo riding. There's so much stuff in there.

Technical XC and singletrack (you'll need a street directory).
North Rocks, North Rocks Rd, just before the James Ruse over pass is a small side street off to the left (as you are heading down hill) follow that in, there is parking and just pick a trail and head ito the lake. There are a mass of trails that go around the lake and head off else where.
Baulkham Hills/Castle hill. There is a system of trails that lead through the green band in this area that can be accessed at Excelsior Park Castle hill (many different trails leading off from behind the Scout Hall, the change rooms etc.) Munro Street, Baulkham Hills (turn off into the caldersacs and there are walkways leading to trails. Cary Street, Baulk.H. It's a fire/access road entry, you can't miss it. Ted Horwood Reserve Baulk.H, many enrty trails from car parks and srounding streets.
All you have to do is find these spots via your street directory and follow the trails, there's heaps of them that follow on to many different suburbs. I grew up in that area and have been riding/skipping school down there for years.
Never had any grief from anyone riding down there.

I live round there also. Check out as well Castle Hill BMX track - (not just the BMX) - there are trails that pass by - I have not ridden the trails, but there are apparently plenty of good trails around there.

Yep Fred Caterson reserve is what I mean - I have not ridden them as I said, but there seemed to be a few riders going by the track - I was just jumping around on my STP.
Maybe there is not much after all. Sorry about that.

In dural there is a trail off quarry road.
Pass the round about at macdonalds heading on old northern road towards galston (the kfc/macdonalds whatever it is is on your your right)
turn right at quarry road. i think its the first right turn
Follow quarry road all the way to the end maybe 10min rolling down. Beware of the unleashed dogs and the bottom of that road.
The road will end and there is a firetrail that is sandy at the start, but then turns hardparked midway. and sandy rock on the way up.
The trail goes downhill and starts the climb when you come to the bridge crossing. how good are your climbing skills? its basically reverse of what you came down. YOu will end up in hornsby near the big water tank.
You can take a few turnoffs and explore some more trails around there
This was a few years back
Fred caterson is sort of close by to dural near the bmx track. Some clubs used to run short xc races on wed afternoons agges ago. there is a few single tracks mainly rocky and sandy.
The old galston xc track. IM not sure if this is open anymore but its about 5mins past northholm grammar school.
there was a nice bit of single track hand crafted a few years back and the back of west pennant hills and joined up to exelsior reserve. check the street directory where it joins exelsior to west pennant hills.
there is a few others but i am not sure if others want me to mention it.
pm if you really need to know.

Hey, have you tried the downhill tracks at Blaxland, right next to twisty section of Old Bathurst Road.
Start at Bowaga Rd and you end up at the end of Gosling St. Awesome tracks.

The Admins and mods try to keep a certain standard on the forums which consists of no SMS/MSN talk (It's {why the capital letter?} a forum, not a phone), use of puntuation {punctuation} and spellcheck/proof reading is encouraged. As for tracks, I know of many in the Baulkham Hills, Parramatta and surrounding areas. But they're not Downhill {again, why the capital letter - downhill is not a proper noun} tracks, more flowey {flowy} and technical single track. If this kind of thing interests you at all, let me know and I'll post some details for you ;) {it is not a phone, and where is your full stop?}
