i've heard they are tough as hell but weigh like 8 pounds. pretty much constructed like a big BMX with stright gauge 4130 tubes . i think you can get them with a BMX bb and horiz drop outs or mtb BB with normal dropouts.

Well a mate in Canada has one, his is built up with Sherman Sliders (they're the DC one's aren't they?) and while it is by no means light the thing is damn tough!
Andrew McIntosh is riding for them and apparently thinks the frame's great, and this guy snapped the rear end off his DMR.
All in all the frames seem to be bomb proof but have a weight to match. They're damn cheap though (well compared to other tough frames like toys and imperials.

Light, strong, cheap. Choose any two.

Whoops, thanks Ty. That quote should be attributed to Keith Bontrager (or was it Ritchey? I can never remember......)

Yeah, from memory they changed them a fair bit after the stink with Da Bomb. The new frame shouldn't be too far off either I don't think?

The Da Bomb thing was a total bun fight that was basically a huge misunderstanding all round.
It went something like this:
Two companies approach taiwanese frame builder at same time.
Both start developing frames with the company.
Frames are suspiciously similar.
Neither company mentions that they want exclusivity on the design.
.243 sees Da Bomb CR8 and gets all bent out of shape that they copied their design. Da Bomb has never seen a .243 and then thinks the opposite is true.
If it's any cosolation I have the actual Da Bomb pre production prototype CR8 hanging up in my store room. If you want and opportunity to get this piece of history for free.... we will be giving it away at a DH/4X event in a few weeks time in Canberra.see www.corc.asn.au for details.

Spoke to the suppliers earlier today, and they won't be getting them for upto 2 months. Looks like they're worth the wait, but you'll have to play the patience game Naz.

Ps: When you go for a ride, take ya mobile with ya. I ended up having to explain to your mum why the bike shop was calling to give you a quote!!! Oh yeah the rrp is $650

Squid, who's going to be bringing them in?

dhd, sorry, I wasn't bagging da bomb, I know the story and to be honest I found it quiet amusing. The .243 one is quite different now though is it not?
