Upgrade my bike...or get a new one?

Okay, heres what i'm trying to decide on, I currently have a Ruckus I-drive 2.0 (The one for sale in my Sig) and i'm just thinking if i should upgrade that for a Downhill bike (Some triples, 2nd hand boxxers/888's/dorado's, new rear shock, DHX, 5TH or RC whatever i can get cheapest, and some other parts)

OR

Get a 2nd hand DHi frame and 2nd hand forks and transfur all of my old parts from my ruckus frame onto the dhi....

I just dont know what will work out cheaper, really depends on what parts i get and the price on them, but im swaying to just getting DHi frame and forks, (not spending over 2500, and then putting all the parts off my ruckus onto the dhi, then slowly buying newer and better parts for the dhi and then putting all the parts back on the ruckus that i took of.....

Anyways, your input would be great.

depends how serious you want to get...a ruckus with triple clamps will get down any DH course no worries, but it doesn't have the geometry and rear travel of the DHi. If you want a true Dh'er, get the DHi, but im pretty sure that option will work out more expensive. oh and, things like wheels you won't be able to transfer, unless you build up with new hubs, and hey, that's not really worth it if you have the stock synchros rims.

it will always work out to be more worthwhile selling ur whole bike and gettin a new one , because basically ur getting a frame for free when u buy complete all the components come to the amount the bike is selling for normally

I had an 03 ruckus and recently upgraded to a new Ironhorse SGS Team. It is so much faster, i reccomend selling the ruckus and make the outright upgrade to the new DHi, they are quite a nice bike indeed

Yeah true, i am serious about my DH, but i also enjoy Dirt jumping, 4X ect, So i wanted to keep my ruckus for that maybe, or i could maybe get a hardtail, i am positive about the DHi now though.....BTW how much did you sell your ruckus for jakie?
