well i was always bmx as of the age of around 7, than i rode bmx till i was about 11, didnt ride for a few years, than realised that mtb's arnt all about rigid malvern stars so i got my first mountain bike which is a Merida Kalahari 590, (pretty decent first mtb)... and i plan to get an 04 4hun. "This is your life"... well mine actually :D

heres how i got into it.....

i was born (derrr....) then i got my first 2 wheel bike when i was 3 and i could ride it !!

when i was 6 i got another bike (bmx)

then when i was about 10, i was in the chiropractors and they had amb there.... i picked it up and read it and i got hooked. (thank god!!)

my cousins further influenced me, they were into dirt jumping...

i got a bitta cash together and bought when i was 11 or 12, a gt outpost... it was $429 and i thought it was soo good when i had it.... then i discovered bikes over $1000 !!!

i got myself a DMR trialstar when i was 13 and a bit and got further into it....

then a Giant ATX DH

then a CTR

then a Kona Scab

and finally a Craftworks FRM125

walla !

Yea he said that it was his first decent bike I believe...

Anyhoo my story started when I got to ostrala. My dad got me this dunlop bike from K mart, and I used it for general riding but then I started doing endos and small drops off curbs etc.. I really wanted to do MotoX after watching 5th Gear pinned but that was too expensive and all so I decided to stuff around on my Dunlop. I never realised there were better bikes than the ones in K Mart at that time. So I got a mongoose after I bent the forks from a easy-to-do cased 8 foot double. The ongoose kept stuffing up, just the components werent lasting, like the ebarings would fall out of the pedals..., So i got a gian rincon. Rode that for about 6 months before the components once again were worn away and snapped a few derraileur hangers too.

Now I ride my beautiful P.3, all good now :)

First bike at age 5, a green dragster with banana seat , sissy bar and big apehangers ( huge apehangers when your only 5 ).I could only reach the pedals after dad lowered the seat to the frame!

First bmx at age 13. (1979)It was a Madison, real basic, steel everything.
Then got a half cromo mongoose and upgraded parts and frames from then on, ended up with a team quicksilver frame with all the good bits.
Sold it to help finance my new love , cars.(1983)

Didnt look at another bike until 1999, bought a Shogun trailbreaker for a
carton of vb, went up the local trails and was hooked.
next, a used Univega ds 900. Did the upgrade thing on it as well as I had found that fast downhill riding was rockin my world big time.

current bike, 03 stinky. Still got the Univega!

I learnt to ride on a repco hotfoot and when I was about 9 Saved up for a Mongoose Speed Limit. I then jumped very poorly for a 1/2 a year. Got board didn't ride. I then got a Radius Lepoard Suspention, at 12. Rode MTB for a month or so. Hated the bike becuse of how heavy it was and Bought a 2002 Norco Power Metal BMX (a fully sick bike) spent heaps on that and made it too heavy for me to ride street. I then took my Brosthers MTB for a ride and Loved it. I then proceded to sell my BMX and buy my bros MTB. Best descision I have ever made. Been riding that for about 5 months and I am buying a DH Bike at the end of the year.

My grandfather used to race road+track, my dad raced road+track+mtb, so I started off about 8yrs old racing track, went on to road, at about 13 I got my first decent mtb, and it went from there. I gave up racing about 17 as I started to enjoy mtb more, and now I just ride for the pleasure of it. I've had a go at everything, ride a trials, a bmx, a roadie, a mtb, and just love cycling in general.

hm.. i started out on a Repco max track 24 inch MTB when i was like 7, from there i got into enduro motorbikes fanging around the bush on my XR80, then when i was in yeah 8 i got a Mongoose SGX race bike,,, it was da bomb!, hm from there i hit the local tracks and raced BMX a bit.

then in yeah 11 i stepped back from BMX and bought myself a 2001 Norco 125 for DJ, and a 2000 model Norco bigfoot for XC and transport, overtime ive been spending to much cash on upgrading them!, hm early hm so i been doing a bit of urban DJ bmx track and DJ, then i decided i would trick up the old race bike and get into BMX street....dang those Road fool Bmx vids are addictive so i build up a hoffman condor,
but yeah i do MTB and BMX for my kicks and i still get out on my 2002 XR250 motocrosser every now and again! but its now damn it turned to a addiction,

so thats m story, noy much of a story but i guess its a story

1996 Commonwealth Bank Cycle Classic. 1st stage was held in Manly (where i lived at the time) and the organisers had a competition with Bates Bike Shop. Odds were 8000 to 1 and I somehow won a Giant TCR racer. Phil Bates was so nice, that he swapped it for an ATX-980. From that point on i've been bankrupt, but it was all worth it :D
So there you go!

started out on a Dinky. don't remember it much.
from there, a little blue 12" bmx, with training wheels for a while.
then up to a Malvern Star Master Blaster 16" BMX... that thing ruled the street... complete with fluoro yellow padding... rockin the 80s

got my first MTB at 9 - Apollo Cheetah 24" 15spd. it was black, and steel, and actually stood up to a fair bit of abuse.
did about 120km through the Royal N.P. with 15kg hangin off the back of it too.

first duallie in 2000 at the age of 16 - a Raceline Extreme Sport XC, 4" travel, Deore everywhere and V brakes. spent too much money keeping it out of the workshop.

funny story about that thing....
managed to kill the front wheel at one stage - one of my mates was surfing it through my backyard (foot on bars, foot on seat), bailed and landed squarely on the front wheel n trashed it - so we got a big tent pole from somewhere, i got up as much speed as i could in 20m, then he chucked the pole through the front wheel. went over the bars a few times, ended up with about 7 pieces of rim lying around. pointless destructive shite. teehee....

now working in one of sydney's best bike shops, and thanks partly to the influence of Squidlos, and the fact that i recognised that i was gonna keep breaking cheaper stuff, now riding around on one of the most ridiculously customised 03 Stinkys known to man.
still has the original shifters, derailleurs, rear shock (not for long). The rest has been changed.

it rocks though. :D

had to work for my old man during school holidays in yr. 3 before i got my first bmx - apollo racer - great bike - had comp. bmx track about 200m from my house - it was great fun...

then we moved up into the mountains - old bmx was great for scooting around the streets and jumping all over the place like a jack rabbit

some rich boy at school always had the best stuff - used it a couple of times and then sold it - so i got a great merida mtb off him super cheap - about 10 years ago (he paid $1500 for it - i got it about 6 months later for $600 - nice) this bike has done everything for me and it is pretty much bullet proof

tis starting to decay now though - am in the process of rebuilding a mongoose nx9.7 (this was my dream bike in the late 90's) but i could never afford the 5k price tag - will be a beast but - full xt/xtr, nice dnm's, and will put hopefully 8.75 or 9inch eye-to-eye rear shock and get 7inch rear travel outta it

thats my story - pretty dull and boring
