I recognise that bike. I think I saw it up at the helipad on the Oaks a few weekends back. Very nice.

cheers. doesn't seem to flex too much. the rear end is pretty well put together. less flex than my 2001 AC1. not sure what the weight is. i will try and find some scales and find out

Nice bike, those rocky mountains are sweet riding bikes, and they are definately not flexxy in the rear end

As for weight, its around 28-lbs, which is not too bad. but you do seem to have some really good lightweight parts, like martas - crossmax SL's.
You could definately drop the weight down to 23-24lbs with a bit of love from the bank account -

frame- 03 Rocky Mountain ETSX-50
forks- 05 Fox TALAS RLC (probably dont wanna change - but F100RLT
rear shock- 03 Fox FLOAT RL
brakes- 03 Magura Marta
cranks- 03 Shimano XT - lots lighter, like fsa k force - xtr - race face deus
rear deraileur- SRAM ESP 9.0 - X.O
front deraileur- Shimano XT
rims- Mavic Crossmax SL
hubs- Mavic Crossmax SL
chain- Connex - SRAM PC89r hollow pin
cassette- Shimano XTR 12-34t - Dura ace or Ultegra 12-27T
handle bars- Easton Carbon Monkey Lite
stem- 03 Race Face Prodigy - lots of stems will drop considerable weight ie over 100g
headset- Ritchey WCS
pedals- Time ATAC XS - Eggbeaters
tyres- Panaracer Fire XC Pro 2.1 (tubeless)
shifters- 03 SRAM X9 - X.O

Dude sweet ride, don't go too much weight weeenie, I'd say its just perfect. how do the wheels go , do they stay straight on 24 spokes???
like I said sweeeeeeettt!!!!

i haven't given the wheels a really good workout yet due to injured back. they have stayed straight as so far. they feel so much easier to push. stopping seems to be easier as well. i guess a bit of it might be in my head. this is also the first time i have gone tubeless so this probably helps too.
