55kg the bike will mostly be used for street, bush bashing, jumping and the odd downhill track $3000.

Then maybe you should talk some more then!
Simply asking which bike you should buy isn't going to make you many friends around here.
Like the others have said you need to be more a whole lot more specific about what you want, there are like a million different bikes to choose from.

For the money you are talking about i'd get a sweet hardtail (if the downhill thing isn't as big a priority as the others types of riding you want to do). Something like a Craftworks Rail will let you do pretty much anything you want. However the Yeti DJ would be the ducks nuts IMO!!!

$3000 is alot...

Your only 55kg how old are you? Do you really have $3000 to spend...
