Hi everyone.
I'm looking at buying a rear Kenda Kinetic tyre and I'm just wondering what people think of them?
Are they good at:
*Cornering?
*Gripping?
*Wear?
*Traction?
*Rolling resistance?
Also, does anyone know if the Kenda Kinetics are dual ply?
Thanks

i have kenda kinetics and they are pretty good.
they corner pretty well and grip of the off cambre stuff well. They also have lasted me a while and roll quite well. Overall i think they are pretty good. I would recomend them :)

Umm, i'm pretty sure there are a few types of kinetics. But I'm sure that they aren't "dual ply" like maxxis..

I just checked out their website and they are definitely not dual ply.

Is there much difference between dual ply and single ply?

ya. dual ply = harder to puncture, but alot heavier. because of having 2x as much rubber in the sidewall.

Good grip on loose, rocks, sand etc, these tyres weren't bad.
Only gripe was even with Maxxis DH tubes, the regular punctures! Below about 40psi a puncture was a weekly gurantee!
That said a light pair compared to the Minion 2.7"s in double wall that I have now.
Get a pair if you don't mind getting bagged for puncture stops.

I don't know too much about Kenda's products. I, however, know that one of my friends had the Tomac version on his bike for two weeks, long enough to get three pinch flats. This is a guy who never got a pinch flat before and hasn't gotten one since...which led me to believe that it was the tire's fault... :D
I don't like to rag on products, but I wasn't impressed with Kenda's performance...
Kinetics are your average singly ply tyre. A lot of companies throw them on stock because theyre reasonably cheap but everyone seems to change them asap because basically they are pretty poor in comparison to a maxxis high roller or minion.

Nowhere near enough grip for the stuff that i was doin, i took them off and put some mobsters on.
I've found that kenda kinetics are good on dirt, crap on the hard pack stuff (they just don't grip) and even crapper for street.

it seems as tho most people arent happy with the kenda kinetics
ive decided to go with a 2.5 maxxis highroller (super tacky, dual ply, etc) so hopefully I'll be happy with this, which I think i will be
