So, anyone put a SPD cleat on a cast?
I just broke my toe and really want to ride!!!!
If anyone has any ideas how to do it, please let me know!!!
Ben
There is an advertisement that runs in MTB Action magazine where a guy ahs a cleat on a 1/2 leg cast. I think it is either a wtb/marin ad. I am not sure if ican be done in real life though but i don't see why not. It would make walking while off th ebike a bit uncomfortable though.
Disclaimer: Having only ever used spd's for about 3 days MAX, I have absolutely no idea what I am talking about :)

Dare I say you probably shouldn't be walking on a cast anyway?

It's ok to walk on... prolly would make a huge diff with a cleat I reckon

Make an alloy plate and tap two threads- M5. Cut groves of some description and attach plate with toe straps to cast. Sweet.
Or rest it. And recover properly.

the cast in question:
(not quite enough room on the cast for the toe straps)

Shimano make an SPD sandle, you could probably buy a few sizes too big and fit the straps over the cast.
