View Full Version : Posting wheels?
Just trying to figure out what it will cost to post wheels (either one or two), from Melbourne to Sydney, Brisbane or Perth? Anyone who's done this before?

go to the aus post website they have a postage calculator,
but you also have to remember that it will cost money for packaging though a cardboard box shouldnt cost much should it? :o

yeah aus post website is the go. remember that they cube what the box weighs that why daves would have been expensive. keep packaging to a minimum if possible
I put in the dimensions of the box I'm gonna send tomoz, and it says it's too big hahaha .. ok so that sux.
I guess I'll try to cut the box down so it's kinda octagon so they will take it..
I only charged the guy $18 though.. hmm. (and it's a SMO/Roulette so it's heavy too!)
anyone else done this?

I have posted wheels around australia a few times now.
Rear wheel, from brisbane to sydney, was $10
Front wheel, from brisbane to perth, was $15
Both through standard auspost.
For packing, I simply cut two circles of cardboard the same size as the wheel, put them either side of the wheel, and tape it up. I'd reccomend anyone do the same, putting it in a big box isn't the way to keep the price down.

Sounds like you should take a stabbing knife with you next time.
It might influence the quoted pricing. ;)

Yeh Dave was Perth to Eastern states but..
I think it costs us more to send that way, than it does to send back this way.

I posted two wheels in the one box via Aust Post for $9 something......i packed the wheels in a box i got from Millers Storage....the box was just a little bigger then the wheels and just wide enough to put the wheels side by side. i had to take the skewers out though.
