Hi all,

I have been reading this post (http://forums.farkin.net/showthread.php?t=15607&page=1&pp=10&highlight=buying) which has some handy info on taxes and what not when buying from overseas stores, however I have been informed that this has recently changed in our favour due to the free trade agreement with the US.

I want to bring in probably about $700US worth of gear in the next few days (from www.pricepoint.com), and I just want to make sure I know what I'm up for if I do get charged by customs.. Can anyone point me in the right direction? :D

In the post that you refered to, I have a link back to the custom's webpage (here (http://www.customs.gov.au/site/page.cfm?u=4376) ). It has all of the formulas applicable for the various postage methods.

It would appear however (for that much) that you are going to get pinged by customs, but you "should" be able to work it out from the custom's site.
