travel ajust on manitou shermans

hey guys i bought some manitou shermans 2nd hand of this site but the travel ajust thingy dosent work and i know its a comon problem with theses forks

dose anyone know how to fix them or why there not working

Pretty sure u wont need a new rod i dont think. A mate i worked with fized his in like 20 seconds its a simple job cant remember how he did it, i have a crap memory sorry.

if it's just out of calibration then it's an easy fix. if it's worn out then that's trickier.

before you start make sure the foot nut on the bottom of the right leg is tight.

first remove the black knob offthe top.

then turn the shaft underneath it using a spanner, turn it about 45deg then bounce and see if it locks. if not turn it another 45 deg... etc.

when you find the spot where it locks figure which orientation to put the knob back on.

if you find you can spin it round all over the place and nothing happenes... the butterfly mechanisim is worn out... and that sucks :(
