hey all,
well i am now in the market for a street jump bike aswell as a dh bike.
i have around the $2100 mark for this particualar bike.
i am thinking about the 05 norco 250dirt, the 06 mongoose hardball which is a single speed thunderball but wiht 24" wheels hfx9s, or possibly one of them dmr complete bikes such as the sidekick2 i think it is not sure but i no they come iwht sram.
i just need ome suggestions as to what peoeple think for that price range.

get a 06 stp zero. They have a great spec and are about $1800 so its well in your price range. just my 2cents.

try looking around on Farkin before posting questions like that, as there is shitloads of info on the stp range for 06, the specialized 06 jump range, and norco stuff too.
mostly including prices too.
You CANNOT go past a Giant STP0.

Don't get a Mongoose; the geo is awful. IMO, if you want 24" wheels, get a Norco 250; if you want 26" wheels, get an STPzero.

Check out the 250 (24"/Singlespeed) or the 604(26"/Gears) if you want something tough and durable in steel. Check the 604 Review in Revolution MTB magazine last issue. You can't beat a bike with a steel frame for riding hard. The BMX crew don't DJ or Street on alloy bikes for a reason. If you want a lighter bike for 4X or more tech/smooth stuff then the 4Hun is probably the best specc'd supercross bike on the market. If you cant find 05 models of any of these they are available in limited sizes now.
If you are wanting a bike later in the year, check out the 06 250 and 416, AMAZING looking bikes with killer spec.

heathen: cr-mo, 24" wheels 20mm thru-axel, dj pro froks... single speed
cretin: cr-mo 26" geared,20mm thru, dj pro forks, discs.....
all under your price tag...............

ive been lookin round 4 an stp1. ive found that most of them are priced around 1500. however, i have been able to bargain the local shop down to 1350 and in melb, i have been quoted 1300 cash.

Look at the 06 norco manik or rampage, there in your price range too
