I was wondering on getting a new DJ frame an i wanted to know some info on some of the frames before i decide. I currently ride a DMR Rhythm with 03 DJ3 but i was tihnking of something with a steeper top tube and horizontal drop outs. these are some of the frames ive bin looking at
- Atomlab Trail Pimp
- DMR Transition
- Black Mrkt Mob Frame
- FireEYE Bloodshot or Fire Fly (has anyone ridden or seen these in aust?)
- Last Raffnix
- 24 Toy 4
-NS Suburban (has any one ridden these i know ribbed import them)

Cheers richey

Out of those (if I had the $$$ LOL) I would get the Le Toy 4 or Last Raffnix.

More likely the Le Toy 4.

Quality welds and gussets, nice chain stays and looks good to boot!

I would have to say any of those frames would be cool.I think your build kit is as important as the frame e.g bar stem combo, right forks for the frame.

when i judge a dj frame i look for looks, strength, weight and popularity and price is another thing.

the dmr has to be the go. Not overbuilt like the 24 and better geometry than the others but i guess that is also personal preference. DMR looks the shiznit tho.

Yeah i was thinking the DMR but i wanted something with a steeper top tube compared to it, so i dont hit my feet on cans

the geekhouses look like a nice frame ( i looked into one when deciding on a new frame) however angles are a different thing...

... why not the revell 450r, ( i cant believe you left it off your list in the first place!) ????? steep head angle at 71, but i have no problems with it.

I'd get the Mob but I'm pretty sure you can't get them here in Oz unless you want to import one. Expensive!

the Black Market Mobs are available in Australia. Talk to your LBS that get S&M in, Oh yeh your looking at around the $1500 price tag. (or so i am told by my LBS)

I'd say get the Last Raffnix, I saw Naz's one the other night and it looked awesome. CroMo, short stays, nice clean frame with no overbuilt chunky stuff as it's not needed. The headangle on the Last is nice and steep, workmanship looks sweet, looks great and ordering one is too easy. Price is nice too. Last pics (http://forums.farkin.net/showthread.php?t=35985)

The MOB frame cause it's sick. Look at this one, jeez it's probably the best bike i've ever seen. An you can take it off sweet jumps and get like 3 feet of air! :D

- Atomlab Trail Pimp Expensive, all atomlab stuff is expensive, but it seems like a very nice frame.
- DMR Transition Very nice, quite pimpish, nice price tag to.
- Black Mrkt Mob Frame Very nice angles, apart from fixed disc mounts, its damm nice.
- FireEYE Bloodshot or Fire Fly Never riden, I personally don't like the look of them, but i'm sure they ride nice.
- Last Raffnix Probably one of my favourites, I can't see anything wrong with it apart from its as common as an STP
- 24 Toy 4 Very nice bike, but I don't like the tankish tubing really.

hay ritchie, what about a woodman d frame. I'm getting one, they've got a steep TT and head angle. Looks fucken awesome.. except the only bad thing is they only come in one size and they have ghey problems with there brake mount.

anyways good luck with finding a new frame

haha mob, how high is the BB?, watever. Elite cycles import them, ridicilously high BB, fixed disc mount, over rated.

same with those lasts, pffft too heavy, geo isnt that great. haha

Naz  I do believe you quite liked them a couple of weeks ago cause of the "built by riders, for riders" thing and cause they weren't all hype and shit, so why start knocking them now just cause they've got a fixed mount.

Hey,

Check Norco.Com for frame details on the 4Hun and 250. In stock and ready to rock. Prices are awesome and there are a handful of 04 frames at cheap prices left too. Talk to your local Norco dealer.

I actually don't know. We'll have a weight as soon as they arrive...... whenever that is..... I'm so dark, I've got one comming for myself and there STILL not here and I'm yet to hear exactly WHEN they will arrive from Canada. Grrrr.... But now I've seen the 06 frame.... hmm..... =)

Hey Guys,

You are looking to do mostly DJ on this bike yeah?

I wouldn't even bother looking at aluminium frames for DJ, sure there is a bunch around with great geometries and they look cool............but cromo is hands down better for jumping.

It is a little heavier, but much smoother ride, and if the frame were to "break" it would bend rather than snap, so you wouldn't do yourself or your components as much harm.

For jumping cromo all the way!

i second that -alluminium is just asking for trouble - if you dont like the weight of them but like your face in one piece- go to the gym and stop being wusses.

I ride a Last Raffnix, its the best jump/street bike i've ever ridden (this includes a lot of bikes).

Haven't ridden the Mob, looks nice though if u can afford it.

Fire Eye's look cheap and nasty, but with a decent headset in it and a bit of luck with the welds it seems to be ok geometry at a bargain price.

It's from BATCH design click here (http://www.batch.org/new_site/)and called the La Pata freestyle titanium frame BTW was quoted 800 euro for it and made to order, you can customise geometry and dropouts, colour etc.. looks pretty well built

Also 24 is going to release the MOON is titan too!!! Holy Sh1t
I was going to order the toy4 but might wait for this one instead.. coz the toy is an expensive Aluminum frame to put a dent in! Also notice the new seat clamp?

If it's a revell I'd go for the 300s (http://www.wadescycles.co.uk/shop/asp/product.asp?recorprod=1&product=3204&cat=176&ph=&keywords=&recor=1&SearchFor=&PT_ID=1&Desc=Revell+300S+Frame&ViaProdType=Y&PRODCAT=&Brand=) or the 250r (http://www.wadescycles.co.uk/shop/asp/product.asp?recorprod=21&product=1607&cat=176&ph=&keywords=&recor=&SearchFor=&PT_ID=Next&PRODCAT=frames&Desc=REVELL+24"+FRAME+250R&Brand=), more suited for 24" wheels and DJing

And has anyone heard anything about those La Pata freestyle titanium frames? Also pritty keen on that; Just havn't heard anything about them.

10/09/05 : THE MOON
A brand new baby in the 24 family: Julien "Moon" Meunier pro model, the "MOON"

100% cromo (a Titane version available soon) and extra short 370mm chainstays.

Available soon !

http://www.24-bicycles.com/

Another nice looking DJ frame would have to be the Blk Mrkt Riot frame. It's the same geo as the MOB although it's not hand made in S&M so obviously it is going to be quite cheaper. So if you can hold out a while, hold out! otherwise I really don't know what to buy...the dobermann frames look nice though!

The MOON is out in Japan, the Ti is due out and no prices as yet!
The La Pata and Jook is both DJ/Street Frames made in Germany with typical german engineering and craftmanship, although I haven't ridden one I would expect it to handle pretty well.

Here is the Japanese site (http://www.dirtybike.com/framejp_24bikes.htm)

Trialsguy

The Moon will be available in April here in Australia. Price has yet to be determined, but expected to be around $899. No prices have been mentioned for the Ti version, but i bet its worth a pretty penny!

We will be getting in both cromo and Ti models for those that are keen.
Both are very low production, the Ti model will be really hard to get hold of, so if anyone is deadset on getting one, I would recomend placing an order through your local dealer to secure one.

Cheers,

Ben.

For the CrMo model i'm assuming..

i loved the mob in dirt issue 53# , it looked siik!

I wouldn say Jackal's are common.

Pixsoul
12-02-2006, 09:25 PM
The jackals arent common, i wouldn't say they are a great DJ frame either. I would categorise it as more of an dj/freeride HT not DJ specific. Plus its alloy. Nicely made though.
