Just fitted some new prototype semi metal pads for the Gatorbrake 6 pots (used to be called Navigators) and do they have some serious whoa! These are already one of the most powerful brakes you can get, and I've just taken it up a notch! Just took it for a test ride and its hard to keep the back wheel on the ground on the tar, but there is so much control that you can just hover it off the ground from any speed you want. Cant wait till they bed in..........eeek!

Frame- Xtension DH Xtreme, 8.5" manitou sixway
Fork- 04 Rockshox Team, the very last pair to leave the factory before they started on the 05 stuff. Blackbox mod, motul oil n heaps of M-prep in the seals makes one sweet fork.
Brakes- Gatorbrake 6 piston, with proto semi metal pads, proto 203mm front rotor, 185mm rear.
Rims- Dirtbag DH 36h as used by Hugh Mansfield and Ricky Boyer!
Hubs- Front-A2Z convertable, rear- Xtension 150mm bolt up.
Spokes- Sapim
Tyres- Maxxis Minion slow rezay 2.5s
Tubes- Maxxis welterweight.
Cassette- Sram 990 06 with the bling red ano spider.
Chain- Wipperman connex 908.
Shifter- Sram X7
Deraileur- Sram X9
Cranks- FSA V drive
Chain guide- Black spire- an oldy but a goodie!
Pedals- Xtension X pedals, with larger platform
S/post- Syncros Derived
H/set- FSA pig
Stem- Xtension DH 50mm 6 bolt
H/bars- Fireeye 25.4
Seat- T.H.E. connex, Ti Rails

Not to mention the bb hieght.

if it's anything like my Oryx...which it looks like it comes out of the same factory..but mine does have a different swing arm.......that can be fixed by changing the pivot mount near the BB.....mine was high....now it's not ;)

The frame has adjustment for both head angle and BB height. Each is in the middle setting. With me sitting on it the BB height is 13.5" which is low enough, thanks for your concern though. I think the aspect of the picture makes it look higher than it is, as I took the pic lying down.

Only got the 2 pairs of proto semi metal pads. The designers of the brakes think I'm nuts to want more power, but with persistence they relented! If I dont kill myself, expect me to have some in the next couple of months

N yes the bike will be at SIC on sat.

Have you tried the Clarks sintered pads for the Navigators? How do they compare?

Is there much of a difference in the feel from the stock pads?

Haven't tried the sintered Clarks yet, may in the future though. To be honest I haven't riden the new pads enough yet (just a couple times down the street) to form a proper opinion on the new pads except for the fact that they are more powerful! Also in the stock pads I normally file a couple of channels in the pad for better wet weather preformance, but these new pads are heaps harder than the stock ones making that job a bastard. I'll see this weekend at Lithgow.

BTW I will be there with SIC and BIKE FIX so if you break something or need new parts come see us, we will be doing repairs and sales at the event all at killer prices.

Got a static figure?
We generally measure BB height without sag.
It looks 15"+ from the pic, with 7" boxxers too!

Sweet, but yeh, had to be said again; FUCK THAT BB IS HIGH (sorry!). Just out of curiosity, throw us a measurement of it w/o the sag. Good lookin', but that kinda geometrey just isn't the way to go for me.

The static BB height is 15 1/4'' give or take a mil or two. I rode a 05 223 on the weekend and that has to have the lowest bb of any DH bike coming in at under 14''! but it doesnt drop by much when you sit on the bike because of the different suspension design.

just out of curiosity what are the BB heights of your DH bikes?

Nice bike. But damn, why that BB and head angle?
My BB sits 14" static. that is on a dh9 too by the way.

I have just adjusted the BB height and headangle with the adjustments available on the frame, the BB now sits a fraction over 14'' static, n i'll have to get back to you on the headangle, but its pretty slack!

Just measured the head angle and it is between 64 and 65 degrees. Heres a fresh pic of the bike with this geo.

Definitely much better.

My DH bike measures 14.25" with a boxxer, 14.5" with an 888 w/flat crowns.

rides heaps better, even seems to pedal better. Also I have been able to back of on the pressures in the SPV and wind out the bottom out chamber and have better small bump sensitivity without loosing out on anything. should have done it much earlier. does buzz the seat on big hits now, but I can live with that!
