i have been looking to do some dh for some time now, but i don't have the $$$ for a 4000 dollar dh bike, and i am not that good, so i don't need a really sick bike. i am getting an AC soon and i was looking to do dh, but people say that an ac wouldn't last, so, if any one could answer the question "would a AC be able to last on the red hill dh course", i would be happy.

  :D :p :(

hey mate i have ridden a giant AC for 6 months now and i have gone from shit to like doing anything at redhill, all the people that say its rear shock is dodged, i dont know what they are talking about...mine is going swell i jus dont think they know how to land properly. AC is a beaut entry bike but once you get better you need to upgarade to a better bike as is what i am doing at the moment

actualy the rock shox delu shoxs were dodgy hence the reason when i first got the frame it was sent straight back under warrenty when it blew, if you gettin a new one however with a manitou youll be laughin! but nah great all rounder bike an not nearly as heavy as a full spec dh bike

a bikes only as good as the rider, so therefore if youre smooth and careful it'll hold up easy think about in the old times when downhillers used to use bikes with NO SUSPENSION AT ALL if those guys were around with our bikes theyd rip it up heaps good :D

J-rod, I know a few riders on ACs (05 and pre 05 models) that puts other riders (including myself) with so called indestructable bikes to shame.

Sure there will be limitations with the ACs but as isthisthepart said, I can't agree more with "a bikes only as good as the rider"

I don't see any limitations for ACs on Red Hill stuff though, just depends on how smooth you are I guess.
