Well after weeks slowly building it. We have finally finished making our 5ft kicker, ready for a dam jump sesh soon as the weather is already getting hot. We still got to put some grip stuff on it so we dont slip but otherwise from that, its pretty much finished... i'll Post some action pics sooner or later....

Nice kicker, does have quite a bump just as you're hitting it though!

Jared101
03-09-2005, 02:58 PM
frasa,,, just drew circles on the ground with different radiuses and just took a section out of the circle that we liked lol and shaped a piece of steel to that shape. oh yeh that bump will be like covered with a bit of dirt so yeh.

Nie work mate, did you guys weld the frame up and everything yourselves? If so saweeeet.

Its good to see good quality stuf like that;) Make sure you cover that bump up aswell:P

Again nice work, have fun on it

Jared101
03-09-2005, 06:51 PM
i wish, i did them all myself. I welded up a couple but because the steel is like quite thin and we had a old skool welder, i let the qualified welder do most, lol ha. but overall for 34 bucks, for the whole lot was good, good to have good friends.

Speedy
04-09-2005, 06:07 PM
old skool repco bike sounds good i would wanna ride that sasquatch(??) leaning on the ramp into a dam. ive got a whole river to jump it onto down my way bring it on down, you could stick it at the top of this safe as a diving board 14m cliff that we jump off, that would be sweet :D

Jared101
05-09-2005, 06:34 AM
14m plus how ever high we get off this kicker. Thats crazy ha. That would be sick to have a river in your backyard better then our dodgy dam,,, full of allsorts of crap

Speedy
05-09-2005, 09:24 AM
Yeah its fair sweet it aint exactly on the back yard but it aint far at all, im gonna ride a bike off there these holidays if its warm enought but there isnt enough of a space for a run up its too rocky a couple of barrows of dirt should do the trick.

Hurry up and jump off the kicker man I want to hear what its like and how it looks on camera Lol :D

Jared101
05-09-2005, 03:03 PM
haha yeh man im getting there, all we need to do is put this grip stuff on it and it will be a go.

12-09-2005, 06:58 PM
A few recommendations...

Wear shoes! That has to hurt your feet something chronic.

And number two...never ever bail! If you come down on top of that bike, you're in for a world of hurt.

johnny
12-09-2005, 07:00 PM
That looks like sooo much fun!

Jared101
12-09-2005, 07:01 PM
arh bare feet arent to bad,,,nice plastic pedals lol. Hey yeh must agree with u with no bailing, ive clipped the bike a few times with my leg it does hurt a bit couldnt imagine landin on it,,,,ill try hold on i think

Rik

how you get the bikes to float? normally tyres wasnt enough on bmx so mtb wouldnt be any better would it? i suggest bottles tied and taped to the frame...

DJ_Robbie
17-09-2005, 06:07 PM
thats what we did with our bike, check the photos, theres a bottle around the top tube, and from memory one on the bars too, 2 2L bottles are enough to keep it afloat, with that much hangtime the force that goes through the bike when landing ripped the bottles off one bike, bye bye bike. 20ft down haha.

Speedy
17-09-2005, 06:12 PM
Yeah what happened to the bike after it landed? I'm planning to jump off a cliff into water and my biggest concern is how to get the bike back as it is insanely deep water, we have never been able to reach the bottom no matter how we try to do it

I seem to recall seeing a pic in an old BMX mag where the guys had kiddies floaties (the ring type ones that go around your arms) around the seat tube and around the bars inside the grips. I don't know how much flotation they'd provide, but they shouldn't come off.

17-09-2005, 06:49 PM
Get some tubes and stuff them in your spokes of your front and rear wheel. pump them up so they are not sticking out of the spokes too far. And wallah your bike stays afloat with no milk bottles in your way.

17-09-2005, 09:43 PM
how da fuck did you build that???...????!
well good job break a leg on it make sure you film it

Speedy
18-09-2005, 12:43 PM
Sweet idea with the tubes round the seat post and tyres etc, thats my one of my two problems solved the other is that we have to make a run up as it is rocky and I need to get up my speed :D

demo man
18-09-2005, 01:46 PM
use a 20" or 24" tube though, a 26" will stick out a bit much (i think)

fucking juddas guys, those guys are getting some seriosus air time there, great to see.

fucking crazy bastards!

freeride_this
18-09-2005, 01:49 PM

fark that ramp is huge! i say you order two big truck loads of dirt, hire a bob cat for the day, shape a big down ramp and hit it with the ramp!

Mr.Speed
