im a good mate of lil shaun and i am a race officel and was mainley in charge of bunting the track.. if there was no bunting in or between that section he cut off its not cheeting. the track is open to interpritation with-in the bunting. although the track is clearley maked with logs, bair soil, ruts and skid makes.
so if your bunting a track for a race look just a bit harder where some1 or shaun might be able to gain a second or 5..!

explain the "cheat" line someone? plz.. be interesting to no where it was. i recon itz good not having bunting in some places.. means u can get some sneaking lines if your good enough.

nar man, you know those stutters? them, and then theres like a slight corner.

anyway, i shouldnt have hit it that fast that i got bucked. f*ck it, good race and nice work man on the track, you and your crew have done well.

oh, enjoy rebuilding it after this weekend.

you shouldnt need dam bunting if there are plants in the way its just not right taking it to that extent by riding through the bushes if u ask me why not make the track dead straight if people are goin to start doing that its just shit.

It's difficult when you see the elite riders taking these lines, but if it's legal, then you gotta do what you gotta do to get the win. As long as no bunting or parts of the track were tampered with, then i say props to those who find these 'lines'.

yeah mybe but its racing and that meens winningand that meens there are rules shaun dident brake any just used them to his advantage.! if its any1's foult for his line its mine cause i dident bunt that section.
any way thats enough about that.

its wasnt aimed at shaun just a general remark about ethics mainly but racing is racing

its pretty dirty tactics, is straight lining and saving a few seconds really showing who the best rider is? he was probly gunna win anyway...but Shaun doesnt seem to have the ethics to worry about, pushing in line and getting his dad to shuttle just him privately has happened many times...not to mention, out of the goodness of my heart me lending them a brand new sram chain that I won and after 5 or 6 races and alot of naging, i finally get a chain in return..a piece of crap shimano that shat itself within 2 weeks of riding..

props to james for kicking some ass in 17's

Not quite right Skinny. The track is open to interpritation in between course marking. If you cut a corner and misses a course marking he is cheating.

If you ride over bunting, even if it's on the ground, you are cheating.

If you are taking short cuts though the bush, it might not be cheating if there is not bunting in place but you are, creating a extra lines and track creep leading to extra erosion issues, and basically being a prick. And for what? Beating some kids you would of beaten anyway.

None of the marshals saw Shaun cut the course come race run but we will be paying more attention in future races

It's defiinitely not the first time, there were short cuts taken at Thredbo that were seen by me and my mate where the rider in question straight lined a corner and went over the bunting to do so and from what I have heard had been practicing it all weekend. You have got to feel sorry for the kid who came second, maybe if Shaun had stuck to the track Oscar might have had a chance of beating him.

A simialar issue arose at the Amazon this year that led to some arguments on the ehtics of straight lining sections.

Technically the rules allow it, so I guess the only solution is to bunt the entire track.

I kind of think, good on any one who spots those lines, but at the same time have concerns about the trail widening and potential erosion issues it creates once everyone notices those lines and short cuts are created.

i found the problem with amazon.. was the fact that some people keep adding, changing, removing bunting all around the track. Lines which i took in pratice.. i couldnt take in race run because someone had bunted them off.

I'd just suggest putting all the required bunting in at the beginning of the weekend (i.e. friday night/arvo) and just leaving it alone. If you can find a quicker way down the track.. which doesnt invovle riding over bunting.. then fine.. thatz the way it is.

Also another thing i'd like to add is that marshalls or whoever does it.. should stop changin the track during saturday n sunday race/pratice days. It happened at amazon and lithgow; some guys like built up corners.. changed jumps.. etc
