Heading down to Bega for a few days. Have a morning off and bringing the XC bike and looking for some singletrack (I'll have a car if distance is an issue).
Any suggestions? I searched Farkin but no hits.

Merimbulla Tip Fire Trail was sweet for a quick dawn ride. Probably worth about 4 fat chicks (my equivalent of fat hippies).
Here's the ride report (distances approx.):
Merimbula Tip Fire Trail
From my Motel, I took Merimbula Rd to the National Parks Office, turn right into Sapphire Coast Drive and climb the large hill past Magic Mountain. Turn left at the tip and go over the small mounds and into Bournda Nature Reserve. Follow the trail down over the couple of waterbars and through the small gully. At the top of this small climb is fork, turn right where after approx. 200m a sign indicating the "Merimbula Tip Fire Trail" is seen. Follow the trail along the top of ridge, avoiding the numberous loose sandy sections and rocks (low profile XC racing tyres are not a suitable tyre choice), for about 5 km. Despite being called a fire trail, the width and quality of trail varies from singletrack weaving through trees to wider trails but not double-track or 4WD track. Other users are frequent motorbikes and occassional horseriders. The trail turns to the left down a small steep section and then a long downhill is to be had for a couple of kilometres. The DH section ends at rideable creek crossing where shoes will be wet. On the other side of the creek, the trail climbs slightly up to Princes Highway at Yellow Pinch (opposite Wolumla turn-off). Return along the Princes Highway enjoying the new wide shoulder and avoiding the many timber trucks rocketing along the highway bound for the chipmill.
