Heya, just a little friendly note to say that this should be in the 'wanted to buy' section, however you are new so you probably won't be granted trading access yet.

and guess what little man. we all started like you. and we didnt go running around asking people to give us their bikes.
stick with it and save up for a new bike.
the more you ride on a 'shit' bike, the better you will be when you get a new one...you dont become pro overnight.

you have to start somewhere.

all the riders look and laugh as a skoot down the hill

who cares?

you are out there giving it a go, just keep going on your bike and by the time you get yourself a decent bike you will have the skills to nail it and stick it to all those people who laughed at you

what he said ^^^

its all part of MTBing. underneath no one really cares about each others bikes.
every one gives me shit cos i am a Kona whore and refuse to ride anything else.
underneath neither party cares, its usually a joke. :)

yeah i started on like some crappy old hardtail mongoose pile of rubbish with like 3 inches of travel. now im mvoing on from my 03 GT DHi, which im selling for $3200ono if you are interested, its got absolutley everything u'll ever need for DH, and in awesome nick but if its too expensive then i cant help you out. But keep at it, crappier bikes build your skill soo much more.

you will probably end up a better rider because if you can ride well on a ordinary bike, when you eventually get a decent one you will absolutely fly.
I'd save you money and buy a second hand bike through this site.

We all started out that way. Start saving up some money, and in no time you will have enough to pick up a nice used DH bike.

Nowadays, you younger folk have it easy with just buying shit off the shelf that works and is under 2 grands worth 2nd hand. When I started racing (probably 96-97) the only bike I had was an old Bianchi with rigid forks that I eventually snapped etc.. Then I 'upgraded' to RST's with 3" of travel and that was a hell of a lot back then lol. Now I still ride an old ATX 2, but at least I rode the shit stuff before I jumped onto a better bike..

Keep at it mate, like others said you won't become a national champ overnight. Especially not on a good bike anyway. You're better off saving your cash and buying something decent, not just something to shut the other idiots around you up..

Good luck!
