hey mate stp2 is my best bet for 1000 if at all possible to scrimp and save an extra 500 go an stp either way great bikes

check out the norco supercross range.
i think some of them are around that price.

brunawik cycles has a norco 125 (supercross series) for 1 200 or sumthin right now..... exactly what you are looking for.

I have STP2 and id much rather the 125

rock machine make some awesome DJ bikes for UNDER 1 grand, like the quake. its really good value.
