Ok, seeming there are probably alot of people out there that don't know all the different tricks out there. Well this is the thread that if you don't know a trick, you ask it here!!!

I'll start it off.

It's 33 seconds into the "unchained" (NWD) trailer.

The trick is a barspin, but they follow the bars and go around the bike. Looks insane.

Anyone know what this trick is called?

Not trying to piss you guys off but it's a 'Decade Air' because it's in the air

And a 'Decade' is a Flatland move. :p

So theres no difference between this -

and this -

Well yes... ones in the air and ones on the ground.

In competetion correct naming is important from the judges.

for fooks sake, enough bitching about a tiny difference about the name- it all means the same shit

and yes there is a difference in the pictures the flatland one is [wombat edit: you know the rules so abide by them] and the other ones a street comp :p

i'm pretty sure if your watching a dirt competition and the MC calls out something lame like "oh crazy big decade"

your not going to stop him and go "well actually its a 'decade air' because he is in the air and not flatland"..."get it right Mr. MC, otherwise us nerdy ones in the crowd will get very irritated with your incorrect anouncing.....then we'll have to write you a letter telling you how irritated we are"

everyone fucking knows they're not watching a flat ground competition, so they're not going to be expecting a rider to suddenly bust out a decade on the ground are they, so there wouldn't be any need for the MC to call it a decade air..

anyway announcers always get tricks mixed up. especially in skiing and blading, because they're spinning so quick. its somethings thats bound to happen.
so stop being so pedantic about it. your just uselessly filling this thread with crap.... now i'm going to be expecting the "oh WE'RE filling it with crap? what about you LOL" and other such witty defensive remarks like "we're just trying to smooth things out and help this nOOb, coz we're so 133t"

Also,

Thats like saying 'cos' and 'because' is the same thing.

But ones proper english and the other ones not. :D

I'm trying to teach correctly.

Now enough crap!

Whats the next question guys???

ffs...farkin is shit...so much bitching.

i hope overclockers.com.au decides to cut your hosting. at least there forums are interesting.

not "kona stinky or giant ac" and "judy tt vs DJ3's for DJing" thread every fucking day. or constant 'pure violent bitching' over the tiniest things.

look at your sig, look at your name, look at your avatar.

you have no validity in the argument. i mean who would be stupid enough to buy kona, let alone 3

um...ME!

so what. some people have bough 3 Huffys, are the smarter than me ?

as for my name sig and avatar i am merely showing that i ride and like konas. is that a problem ?

plenty of people have giant pics, plenty of people have bought 3 or more of the same "shit bike"..i dont diss them

and does not having bought a kona, or trusted a brand as much as kona somehow make you superior as a rider or person because you have 3 intenses and 5 santa cruz's

i am still to work out whats worse, the question or the answer.

wah wah, watch out better start callin crankflips, crankflip airs because you dothem in the air, or maybe no footer can airs, because u know it is possible to no footer can rolling along. or maybe we should call x-up airs coz u can do them rolling along. or no hander airs, no footer airs, one hander airs, 3 star airs, what about 180 air, 360 air.

air air air.

um...ME!

now thats patriotism. :P

nah its cool man, its just your very woah kona lol. oh and i used to ride one, so as per usual i contradicted myself. dont take it to heart.

So theres no difference between this -

do mountain bikers ride flatland? or do we have a mountain bike flatland competitions. who freaken cares, are u gonna call every trick u can do in the air, that is possible just rolling a long and just add air to the end.

oh fully sick no footer AIR.

ok enough of the bitching :p

my question is what type of flip variation does john cowan do on the NWD6 teaser?
my thoughts are that it is just a style flip that is hipped or is it a 3 flip?

Okay, let's do this thread some justice.

My question is where do the names such as abubaca, fufanu etc. come from?

Are they just words that people come up with or what? I can understand stuff like whip, flatty, X-up and all the logical names, but where do the freaky abstract names come from?

Joel O
18-09-2005, 05:22 PM
It is spelled "abubaca", the word comes from an episode of 'Diffrn't Strokes' and means something along the lines of "Chief/king" in Swahili, allegedly. Abubaca is how the word is spelt in the official script of that episode.

Fufanu also comes from a different episode of the same show.

BOOYAH! +10,000,000 Random BMX trivia e-penis points to me!knew i'd read it somewhere.

Yeah I would like to know that as well. It sounds like some islanders came up with those names. Abubaca???? why isnt it tail stall to fakie or something?
