2 words:
Metal Epoxy
Costs about 10 bucks from a good hardware store, mix that shit up, jam her in. Then re-tap the thread ...e a s y.
Or alternatively try to come up with another fix possibly involving one of either zip ties, gaffa or coat hangers. (10 points for all three)

The problem with metal epoxy is A/ it's not strong enough, B/ you need to apply it evenly to above the "theoretical depth" of the thread (so it's THICKER than the thread root), C/ you then need to machine it out to an acurate and square "minor diameter" for the thread, D/ you need to have access to the $600 tapping set-up that will ensure the thread is cut parallel to the thread on the other side of the bottom bracket shell, E/ you need to learn a whole heap of new swear words for use 3 minutes later when your bottom bracket falls out.

But other than that metal epoxy is a great idea ;)
