Hey guys

I live in the east suburbs of melb and during the week i cant be bothered riding to the bmx track. There is no jumps close by so i just ride round the streets.

My question is what kind of tricks do you guys pull when theres only small drops and no jumps around?

I currently just mono, endo, stoppie, manual, endo 180......basic eh? yeah so im lookin for a couple more things to add to my rather small bag of tricks/skills :D

I was thinking a 360 would be pro...oops i been watching too much drop in :p

Does anybody here pull off combos to get the crowd going?

what about barspin manuals and barspis (make shure u always pich ur seat whenu barspin) off a drop when u get better and they look pretty sweet

yes possible although theres a slight problem with that

i have front + rear cable discs
and front + rear derailers

so pretty much theres just too much cables

might have to invest in a hollow stem starnut thingy or whatever they are

manual then crankflip off drops, the possibilities are endless man just use your imagination and take a camera with you so we can see you rip you shins up when u miss the pedals the first few times:P

Also make your moves look smoothe and ultra dialed adding to your overall R.E.S.P.E.C.T (don't ya know what it meens to me) *had to add it*

good luck dude

When was the last time you were riding in Perth Naz? Theres stuff, you just have to find it.....
Of course Dave doesnt actually ride his bike, i mean, he might scratch it or something! Way too risky :p
Back on topic, try and combine what you already know, so do a manual with a barspin, then go into a endo then 180 endo or something. Try and focus on youre rear wheel rather than doing endos and stuff though, my tip would be to just practise bunnyhops, manuals, ababucas, fufanus, backhops, barspins, crankflips ect....

standing up no handers and bunny hops

360's down stairs arent pro - if you try hard enough you can get 3's off a bunny hop -even 180- back pivot if your sketchy bout the commitment....

if there are small ledges maybe pedal/sprocket grind or fuf's or abubucas....

if there is a small bank or wedge shape there are endless combo's if you think about it.

even a wall if you hit it right you can wall slap or wallride....

just think..

Rolling Barspins (becareful if you run hydros), rock walks (one 180 on nose then 180 on rearwheel), 180 nosespin to roll out, 180 hop 2 roll out, bunny hop manuals, manuals, barspin manuals there are lots of fun tricks for just bumming round and if your F00LlY w00tc0r3 H3TIC SuBw00Fa like cory nastazio you can try a backflip of the gutter :p

you guys should see adelaide theres nothing to hit doing street, 180 pedal flips are fun or dodging traffic big manuls, when i came to melbourne i said to myself man oh man i wish i had brought my bike im sure you will think of some fun tricks

Octane_Matty
15-09-2005, 07:46 PM
the only thing interesting round my area is all the huck to flats which id do...but it requires no skill and my bike has failed before from HTF's so i gave that away

what is a fufanus!?

Constable Care
15-09-2005, 07:48 PM
what is a fufanus!?

Same sort of thing as abubaca except instead of landing fakie you do a 180 out of it and land rolling forward

MTBWANNABE

why does abubaca and fufanus have such weird names...? (if that is spelt right..)

What about just riding your bike with reflectors and a safety jacket on with a flag mounted to your chainstay.
While you ride past people wave like the queen. << thats a good trick bound to get attention

Just follow my friends skateboarding philosophy, it doesn't matter what you do as long as it looks good. A massive huck to flat looks good to the regular joes on their feet but something technical will impress other riders. So I say a 15 stair X-up to manual should fit the best of both worlds. :D

try a mono with one hand or endo no handers, they are cool when you get them extended right out. try doing no foot cans, supermans and indian airs while riding along. then try doing them with a mix like no footer to no foot can. they look wicked. barspins to manuals are cool. or you could go for a bar spin but when it gets to 180 hit it back. they semi hard to learn but wicked once you get them.

Try doing some Flatland moves on your MTB like Pedal Squeakers,Mega spins and Back wheelies.

Endo, then hop off the front wheel and ride backwards, trials(pedal hop, backwheel hop). Go to some trials sites and theres usually a list of tricks.

just be creative. My theory is anything and everything can be ridden one way or another... nearly! Schools are a good sorce of ledges tables and benches to ride off and do other shit on. My new hobby is tryin to hop onto everything without killing my bashy. Good fun try it some time.

u can do manuals....monos..bunny hops...endos...
whats fun is sitting next to a gutter parallell and bunny hopping up sideways onto the gutter. takes a bit of practise but its fun.
manuals are quite difficult but u will eventually get it. just lean back as far as u can and lift up the front and ride along like that....fun fun fun
