who are you?

where did you get the name Dark Rider from?

I am a Dark Rider...anyway

there are probably threads on this, but it really depends on your personal stregnths and weakness. I would reccommend heaps of BMX track sprints (for smoothness and sprints in general), XC or roadie training, and heaps of DH.
Maybe weights aswell, depends on if you do them already or whatever. I would probably do a heap of upper body (torso) work. Legs and arms (forearms and triceps) get a massive workout from riding so you dont need to mess with them unless you know it's a weakness.

Anyway, that's my advice...I'm sure people have better tips though

look in the same area you have posted in (downhill) and go into the thread named "fitness for DH" or similar. or use the search function we have on Farkin as i am sure it has been talked about before.

it's great that you want to start racing, it's a lot of fun.

one tip though - you don't need to be all that fit to race. if you want to race to win then yeah, get fit but don't go nuits, but if you just want to try it out, then your current fitness from riding will be fine.

happy trails!

The best way to get fit for dh is to get out on an xc bike and go hard for like an hour. Then do 5 min sprints to get your explosive power up.
