My son broke his neck in March, fractured C2 compressed disc and displaced C3.Everyone who's anyone says that he was extremely lucky. I tend to think that he was a tad unlucky. He said it was a pretty lame crash but launched over the bars and landed on his head, totaling a spanking new TLD Carbon Flame in the process. Prior to this I have seen him have some huge stacks and just get up, dust himself off and get back on the bike. Specialist says at least another 12 months before getting back into DH and preferably not at all but he is back on XC bike and getting out and about doing a little lycra bashing. He once said that he would never be caught in lycra but hey sometimes you have to compromise. i'm just happy that he is still able to do what he loves - ride bikes.

Were the doctors able to do anything for the TLD?
Tim, welcome back buddy. I had a few months off after breaking my wrist - it's amazing how it knocks the wind out of your sails and strips your confidence (it did for me anyway). Don't push it too hard too soon. But you're right - there's nothing like getting back on two wheels again.
