since sposorship is such a big thing for so many ppl why not start up a section on sponsorships. People can post thier resumes and pics and companies can look through there if they are looking for a rider
what you think?

Good idea...but if someone wants to get sponsored ,goto Sponsorhouse, i dont see the point of making a section on farkin.
Actually, from the point of view of the person who would be doing the sponsoring, I would make the very firm decision not to ever look in such a forum.
The bottom-line is that a sponsored rider (regardless of the level of sponsorship) is like an ambassador for that company... and if someone who wants to be my ambassador can't be bothered doing any more than posting a generic job application on the net (rather than really selling themselves to me in a way that very specifically points out what they could do for me...) why should I bother.

At first I thought this might be a good idea, but after reading Grip's post and and thinking about my own sponsorship arrangement with my LBS, I have to say I agree with him.
I think the reality will be that you'll get about 5% of posters genuinely interested in the commitment of a sponsorship arrangement, whereas the other 95% will just approach it purely from a "hope I can get sh!t for free..." mentality.

i think that Grip has said it.
sponsorship is a very personal thing between the company and individual, it takes much more than one large post on a website to get a good deal.
if you are looking for sponsorship, then think of something creative to do to show off your skills, not sometyhing that anyone can do in 10 minutes.

Actually Sponsor house don't deal with australia. I've e-mailed Rich Houseman and questioned him about the programs they have running. and unless you are an independant racing abroad theres not much they can do.

It's pretty much an indication of someone's seriousness (sp?) to get sponsored if they canvas the internet with their "resume". If you want to get sponsored, you should approach people, not the other way around. Speak and (a revelation) spell clearly and legibly. Sell yourself, don't expect to post your accomplishments and have people chase you ( unless your fucking great!) Good luck, hope it goes well.
Edit: A last thought. If you're worth sponsering, people will know how good you are as they no doubt chesk results and see who are the consistent peformers and who are good sellers/communicators to sponser.
