Hi guys just wondering is there any difference between a 2001 and a 2003 specialized bighit comp frame.
The reason i am asking is because my upper rear pivot is loose and there is a fair bit of play. I was wondering can you buy rebuild kits for the rear. Or is there any other way you can fix this problem.
Thanks Guys any info will be greatly appreciated.

i've got a mate that has a big hit expert and all his linkages have bearings and im pretty sure the comp frame has just got a bolt threw the linkage on the wheel side of the shock plate link. maybe you could get the expert linkages to fit your frame? maybe other farkiners could clear this up?
sorry i cant be anymore help.
Just pop a new pair of bearings in, your LBS can help you out. The bearings are just standard industrial bearings and can be found at your local bearing shop if you match the numbers.
Just go easy popping them out etc, don't damage anything, get a good shop to do it if you aren't confident.
The 2001 frames should run the same stuff in that pivot as the 2003 comp to answer your question - yes. And no ozipacman, every bighit frame (including the comps) run a full set of sealed bearings at each pivot - no bushings etc.
As long as you haven't stripped the screw thread or something stupid like that, a new pair of bearings in that pivot point is all you need. :)

Had a guy ask me about getting bearing out of a Specialized frame just this week. If you boil a jug of water and carefully pour the water over the frame around the bearings they come out way easier. Worked for him just make sure you've got all your tools ready to go so you can tap them out before the frame cools. We do this in the automotive industry with heavy pressed bearings works a treat.

Thanks Guys for the info. I brought the bike second hand and the top bolt is STRIPPED on the top bit of the rear shock mount.
So i will have to get a high tensile bolt to replace it.
But once again thank you :D
