Honestly... what crap is this?

It seems in just about every thread, especially pictures and videos, someone is saying something along the lines of "OMGzor, i ams teh ferst 2 replii" (spelling added for extra emphasis). I know it's hard (actually, nigh on impossible) to police, but man, its just filling the site up with more crap.

it is a problem that kids have they find it hard to express their feeling so they just post crap!

i blame MSN and TXTing.

I don't get it either.

Kids, if you are bored, go out and ride your bikes instead...

Hopefully the powers that be will let us banninate people who do stupid stuff like that.

what i saw on one pb was where you had a waring bar by the posters name and mods could warn the poster and everyone including other mods know that they had been warned and mods could see for what reason.

on most forums this is not possible so each mod is noting how many times they see breaches of forum rules or people just posting turd!

but it comes down to forum regulars Flagging/reporting bad posts.

and if this is anything like MBUK you can see who has reported the post. so if someone flags a post while they are not loged in it is often not acted on unless a direct floaunting of the rules.

it all comes down to the users to tell the mods what is wrong where as the mods can not be everywhere all the time.

Well that is exactly what this thread has done, so I'm sure myself and the others will pay attention to needless first posts from here on in.

Cheers.:)

YAY! Im 10th to post in this thread, how cool am I........

I hate it as well, but it seems that the quality of every mountain bike site i go to ( mostly farkin and ridemonkey, the 2 best out there IMO) is going DH lately, not sure what it is.

Over the past month or so there has been a HUGE increase in the amount of younger kids getting involved with mountain biking. As a result of these there are heaps of youngens being exposed to farkin and they come on here and post their crap. I personally think that before you become a member on farkin you should be emailed a document explaining some of the things that are crucial in order to survive on farkin. Things like not using the search function when there is clearly 100 threads on the topic should be a bannable offense to drill into people head the importance of not posting crap and filling up the forums with useless shit

Look seriously if you're the first to post a reply you're gonna majorly influence where the thread goes. This goes for all posts really. If someone posts absolute crap then chances are the thread will go to crap. Take fattyandthepiemakers lefty fork poll. It ended up talking about how to cook pies or something.

Although having a joke is ok, do it in a way that isnt destructive.

Yeah sorry that was my fault, but it did get shifted to a new thread.

That might be a bit more effective that just saying 'read the rules'. 'Rules' on a website can seem a bit like an 'instruction manual' and you know the general male attitude towards instruction manuals. Mabey a disclaimer "I have read the rules and will obey by them or get pwned by mods" would help.

Avctualy I just looked at the 'rules' thread posted by mason and only 1324 views had been made on it.
