buddy list and fererals

hi all,

could someone tell me what the hell a referal is?

and is the only thing that happens when you add someone to your buddy list is that they are easier to see in the online list becase of the "+" next to them?

a referel is when some one signs up to the site, and they say that you introduced them to it...

buddy no idea i dont use it.

I use the buddy list a little, when I sign on often I go to Quick Links, and Open Buddy list, so I know who is logged in.
