View Full Version : car stereo error messages
I have a Kenwood car stereo (cant remember model name), but now when I put a CD in, the display reads "ER-04" and the CD does not play...
Does anyone know what these error messages mean?? Is my stereo cactus?
Cheers
Ask Kenwood (http://www.kenwood.com.au/)?
I have just come accross (ie, 10min ago) a fault in an electronic product of mine, instead of pulling my hair out and worrying, first thing I'll do when I'm feeling more active is send the Australian outlet an email, it's a good way of getting help quickly and easily.
Is the CD a burnt one?
Is the music tracks in the correct format?
Is the CD a rewriteable? or just a normal CDR if its burnt?
Is the CD scratched or damaged?
Do you have a manual that you got with the player if it was bought from a store and not in the car when you bought it? had a look through?
Maybe you can look on the web for an instruction manual.
Just some ideas.

I've heard that disconnecting the car battery and re-connecting it will clear an ER-04 error code ... worth a quick test.
