View Full Version : Double posting within an hour if noone replies to your thread
More of a rant than anything else but...
Is there anyway we can make the people who post a stupidly questioned thread and then an hour later if noone has replied post again with "come on guys what do u think" or simply "???????????", explode and die?
I can't believe that people actually expect all their questions to be answered within minutes of posting a thread. The internet is not some magical resource where little elves sit in cyberspace waiting to answer all these kiddies little questions in the blink of an eye.
C'mon guys!!?!?!?1 What do you all think? Why won't anyone reply yet?

I disagree.. it's exactly the same as bumping.. and you'll look like a right cock if you bump in a "things i should Buy" thread..
I don't see the problem with it.. and how much does people on here look back over 3 days ago threads?

I'm with and1, give people some time to respond, not everyone is on here at the same time, or even often so you have to let people respond in their own time, it's not as though you're paying for the advice.
As for bumping threads in the normal discussion forums, well that is something that I absolutely despise. If your thread has died then it is probably for a very good reason, such as:
a) No one had an answer or anything to contribute.
b) Your thread was incoherent, crap or a combination of the two.
Either way, I don't really see any point to bumping discussion threads.

OR the people who saw didn't know the answer.. where-as the people who DO know the answer didn't see.. therefor if it's 'bumped' theres more of a chance of a highly knowledged person will see it..
Kev
p.s. i'm not trying to start a fight :D

It is a good point, but there's no way in hell that a thread falls to the second page within an hour.
Aside from off topic, the fastest moving forum is the parts forum, and it'll still usually take 2 days to drop a thread there; that's generally enough time for one of the knowledgable regulars to see it, or at least for someone without an answer to make an inane comment and push it back to the top.
From now on, bring it to my attention and I'll just ban them. There is no excuse for bumping a thread that is anything less than a full 24 hours old.
