can I make a suggestion?

Save up a little more and get a camera that records to miniDV, and make sure that it has a firewire port - much much easier and more user friendly...

worth it in the long run, as this is what most of the more expensive cameras run (miniDV) and they all record at the same resolution with pretty much the same depth of colour etc...

also with the miniDV
because it would be firewire-when it comes to editing the film on computer
it is a straight foward process with out any stuffing around with casstetes and stuff:)
