The amazing popularity of the State Mountain Bike Course @ Lysterfield requires the co-operation of the Mountain bike community in order for us to live in harmony with the park’s local residents.

If you intend to ride the Commonwealth Games course please DO NOT use North Hallam Road as your access point if you drive. There is ample parking accessible from the Horswood Road entrance to Lysterfield Lake Park and the Churchill Park Drive entrance of Churchill National Park. The added benefit of parking at either of these two points are the facilities in place at both car parks; toilets/water etc.
Please park your car at either of these two car parks and ride through the park to North Hallam Road. Doing so will not only give you a better taste of what Lysterfield Park has to offer now that track rehabilitation and implementation of the recreational MTB trail system is essentially completed but will also help make our neighbours who live in North Hallam Road more comfortable with sharing their backyard with us.

Please respect the landowners in North Hallam Road, do not park your car on their yard or block the rightful access to their home. Be mindful of your actions, be polite; we all contribute to the public impression of what MTB is all about by the actions that we take.

Maybe they should just build more carparking spaces... How can the organisers think that the amount of parking at the Hallam nth road entrance is anywhere near enough?

The Hallam Nth road entrance was busy enough in summer without the Commonwealth games stuff being there... It is the best entrance to start from IMHO. Starting for churchill means you get a nice big stupid uphill to get to Lysterfield, and the Horsewood entrance is miles away from that side.

While I agree that the Hallm Nth Rd car park is at or over capacity, the Horswood rd entrance is "miles" of singletrack away from that side! There are 3 or 4 other options to either Hallam Nth or Churchill that get you into singletrack pretty quickly.
