Yeah, i gotta have surgery on my shoulder from a recent work incedent. They say i have torn the tendons in my shoulder in 3 places, and they have to reattach it, and remove a piece of bone thats floating around in there. So i wanna hear some surgery stories, good and bad! Have you had a similar shoulder operation? How long were you off the bike? I was told its like 3-6 months recovery?! Then physio, that means no ride!!!! That would drive me nuts. Cheers.

i been on a recovery since feb and still havent ridden the bike properlly and wont till, big maybe dec. Mines a 3 time broken wrist then a bone graph with 2 screws. Seriously the more you think about it the more it drags, focus on something else and it flys buy i started airbrushing and then skating. I would say im half desent at 2 things i new nothing about before. Maybe u could play sony with your toes.

Sounds pretty similar to the injury my missus did. Grade 5 shoulder (45mm)seperation and 8 months off work. If you are in S.A. go to sportsmed to get the surgury done. We paid 2.5k for it (no health insurance at the time...she was looking though...irony...yes) and it was worth every cent. She is 100 percent and the scar was positioned so it hid under her bra strap (what there is of it anyway) DON'T get screws to hold your shoulder together while it heals. They now have dissolvable guaze that holds the shoulder together for 6 months. Advantages to Guaze- no surgury to remove screws, no holes in bones, huge reduction in the likelyhood of getting arthitus in the shoulder as it allows small movement while healing. Screws are bad, guaze is good.
Good luck

P.S. I think I'm having a bad spelling day

It aint that bad man, I was the dude on the (borrowed) SMALL red DH bike out with Colonel and you guys last week on the St Helena trail. Its just tendon damage that affects any movement above the shoulder. I remember your partners story and thank christ its not that bad! I just got the MRI results the day after the ride and saw the surgeon on Wednesday. 3 tears in the tendons in my shoulder, a cist (spelling) and a foriegn body?! They are doing a second MRI before they operate to determine what the clicking noises in my shoulder are, so i have a few more weeks to do some LIGHT XC rides, just dont wanna crash on it doing DH runs.

i pretty sure i'd be able to get ya an old roady for about 50 bucks (it works i took it off road(ouch))

You don't know what a recumbent is, do you  . Please don't reply to threads when you have no idea what you're talking about, or when you are not actually contributing to that thread in any way... and especially when all you're really trying to do is sell off an old roadie shiter that no one in this thread was even after!
