I'd personally say get an MRP guide (what i use.) which an be picked up pretty cheap on here (bought mine for $120)
Or get an E-13 guide.. seems to do the trick as it's soo damn popular (nearly as bad as STP's  )
http://www.e13components.com/
enjoi
Edit* does MRP have a site? i can't find it..

Ohhhh.. so your looking for a chain guide which you can still use 2 speed? If so, get a E-13 DRS or just a basic Truvativ Shift guide (or what ever it's called?) depending on how much $$$ u have to play around with, i'd get the E-13
Kev
P.s. MRP doesn't make double speed thingo' chain devices.

It's actually refered to as 'double ring' or 'dual ring', not "two speed".
I'm assuming that your mate has the standard setup which uses a truvative shift guide....If i were you, I wouldn't bother on the dual ring set up and just run a single....E-13, blackspire, MRP etc etc all make good quality chainguides.
I'm not sure of the exact RRP of the truvative shift guide but i'm pretty sure it's under $200, talk to your local bike store about exact prices.....

mrp do make a dual ring chain guide. Take a look at www.mountainspeed.com
DH Reliability with XC accessiblity. The new LRP offers 2-chainring compability with classic MRP chain retention security. The new LRP will give you the range you've been looking for.

if you want to get a guide for two chainrings dont bother... umm the dmr speed guide is the best bang for your buck at 200 aus

as are yours, i believe you meant at their peak
anyway if you are running a dual ring system, it might be worthwhile to swap to one ring up front and then just run and e13 style chainguide. it will make things a whole lot easier, and you dont really miss out on much. (I run dual rin and never, use the lowest ring).

basically if you run a dual ring chainguide. there are arnt many pros and alot of cons
Pros
you get to use two chainrings
cons
noisy
drops chain when changing to lower ring
not vary many models to choose from
alot more pricy than a single ring system

I gotta agree. ditch the dual ring. you wont need it. if you want a nice, cheap chainguide you cant look past the good old truvative box guide. not the nicest looking guide i have ever seen, and not alot of bling compared to a e13 or blackspire, but they work. i wish i still had one on my bike. i never lost the chain once with it. i have dropped the chain so many times i cant remember with the areal guide i have now. and it also just caused me to snap a chain.
