i have the perfect rig for you! it's an Orange Patriot 7+ '03 model with 6 way 5th element rear shock, manitou sherman slider 7" front. i have set this up as a very light and fast DH bike. it is in top condition, looked after very well (i'm a bike mechanic).
i have replaced many parts very recently, including wheelset (atom labs with da bomb front hub), fork lowers and spv unit (to new unit that actually works!), raceface sig BB and headset, SRAM X-9 shifter and derailleur, and brand new maxxis super tacky's.
the bike also has oversize titec el norte bar & stem, ODI lock on grips, and hayes hfx mag disc brakes with 8' rotors.
was pushing for $3300, but will take $3000 if u are serious
you'd be very hard pressed to find a quality DH/freeride rig at this price, especially considering that i spent a good $1500 on it in febuary!
the bike has been collecting dust since March as i busted my foot
if u want some photos, send me your email in your reply and i'll mail them to u.
