I have tried the edit/delete button but can see whereto go from there. Any suggestions?

if your message hasn't been replyed to you can delete it.
once some sets a reply, you can't delete, only edit.
also have look at where you post for things.
each section has a specific purpose. for example, this could have better in either off topic, or site problems/suggetions.
i'm fairly sure a mod will shift it for you, and answer any specific questions for you.
