lemme guess, you built it up from an stp2? (wheels and forks give away) :D
Excelent frame, those forks need to go though! :)

Busted! Yep! Some parts are from a STP 2 but most bits are new!
I am sourcing a set 05 Vanilla R's for the bike though ...

I agree, it's pretty cool but the forks could be better. How's riding it?

Yeah, thanks for the comments. I built the bike to a budget ... which explains some of the parts specced on the bike. Next thing to upgrade is the forks... The frame retails for $749.

Welcome to the Suburban club, that's the first black one I've seen posted up. Once you upgrade the forks it'll be even nicer. Have fun with it...

Thanks MTB_MAN. I originally wanted the white one but they weren't in stock. Besides, if I got a white, I'd look like you and Trialsguy! ;) Forks, are coming, early next week! Can't wait!

Spec's posted up! It's currently weighing in at about 14kgs (used the old bathroom scales trick... so not very accurate!).
Do oyu guys know how I can shed some Kg's but without spending $$$$??

Looks (more) sweet now. As for saving weight, the only thing that's free is going singlespeed, that'll save half a kilo easy. Those Da bomb posts aren't too light either. Other than that, you seem to have a pretty damn fine spec.
Oh one last thing, I'd remove the zip tie that holds the front brake hose to the fork crown. When you do x-ups or the bars spin round in a crash, you can pinch or kink the hose which is not cool.

The vanillas look sweet on that frame. Awesome ride ;)
Top ride champ, those north shore frames look trick as. Also it looks real nice for a bike that has been built on a budget :D

Thanks mtb_man for the tip about the brake hose. I'll have to fix that.
As for weight saving, I've been thinking about putting on a Shimano 105 roadie rear derailleur and equivalent roadie cassette. A new seatpost/seat combination would save a few hundred grams as well. Thats about it really for cheap(ish) upgrades!
