Besides chocolate (that's a constant, so I'm not even sure if you would call it a craving...) I usually crave broccoli. Or green beans. It's quite weird.

Nothing, I'm starving myself into submission to myself.

[Lots of cos lettuce, weight watchers cheese and some good grated Parmesan, sliced raw carrot, cherry tomatoes, a whole avacado, Lebanese cucumber, green capsicum, tinned sweet corn kernels, sliced honey ham. chop it up, chuck it in a bowl. Lightly fry up some eggs, I usually take about five, so they have a runny yoke and a little bit of uncooked white, chuck it on the sallad and slice and chop vigorously. The egg goes all through the salad and covers everything. If you want a bit more of a salty flavour, use smoked ham instead]

[Lamb cutlets with honey and rosemary, touch of salt, on the BBQ. Eaten straight off the BBQ]

[Rik's nachos....best you'll ever find]

[any of the waitresses at New Orleans Cafe!!]

Lately it's been McDonald's "Coke"...

I am unsure why, although I believe it is because I have pretty much cut all soft drink from my diet- as with other sugary foods and just crap food in general...

I got home from work and had two deep fried chilli chicken tenders, a mars bar, and a bourbon and cola. Craving conquered.

I came home from work knowing what I was having for lunch, craving for it infact... chicken burger on turkish bread. The problem with the plan was my younger brother ate the whole loaf of pide

Johnnys salad sounds good, I'd add some more leafy greens (baby spinach and rocket, mmm...), throw a can of tuna in it and dress it with whole egg mayonaise and lime juice mixed together. Oh yeah, now that's a salad.

I get cravings for all sorts of things, depending on my mood and my bodies needs. Sometimes it might be a legume-based meal, might be a shitload of salad, might be half a dead cow on a plate. All that said, I refuse to deny myself a kebab or pide if I want one, no matter what time of the day.

Mary's Mee Rebus (one up on a Laksa) at Hawker's Corner in Adelaide...before she sold the Malaysian stall and it went downhill (as in the 'bad' not 'must-pedal-faster' downhill way).

Luckily I got her recipe for it and the fritters that crowned it's glory. Last night's dinner.

The salt and chilli bean-curd from the BBQ Inn in the Chinatown near Darling Harbor also gets me salivating. For a grotty looking place it served the best Chinese food I have had in a very long time and was, allegedly, rated in the New York Times as one of the best restaurants in the world. Curiously, or not, walking there the dude with the hell-long brake cable (at least they're Hope brakes..a + point there) below rode past me. Geez.. Amazing

Absolutely, I've had the Young's Christmas beer and Christmas pudding beer. There are heaps around at the moment, most are darkish with spicy fruity flavour. I love this time of year.:D

Most of the limited brews do. There are a few I can think of from home.
Cascade First Harvest, Cascade Four Seasons, Boags Honey Porter, Boags 1881, too many from here in England. The only real exception was that VB Original that came out, it was truly dire. Only CUB could take a bad beer and make it worse. I still haven't got my hands on any more Finnish or Swedish beer yet, most are made by Carlsberg anyway.:( I'll keep an eye out for any really good ones and I'll PM you.

Haven't you been in the UK long enough to realise the crisis they're having with a lack of dentists? A kick in the mouth from a steel toe-capped Doc Marten is healthier for your teeth than drinking that much of Barr's finest in one go! (Any doubts, head up to glasgow and try and average out a teeth per head per capita. Bet you can't get more than 6!)

Shouldn't knock the 'Bru too much though, it's our second national drink! (does wonders for hangovers and tastes great with vodka!)

Oh and Fatman, it's not quite the real thing but as for your cravings for Olde English Mustard, Irn Bru and the occasional ale, check out

www.foska.com !

Have to say I'm the proud owner of an Irn-Bru bad boy, but I also think the others rock as well!

I've just been to sainsbury's and bought myself 2 two litre bottles for 2 quid, can't say no to a special. I also got some Tunnocks wafers, Jaffa cakes and a bottle of Glenfiddich Coaran reserve to send home to the family for christmas. I didn't get any tea cakes though:D
I do brush my teeth 4 times a day here though so I don't end up with an IRN BRU orange smile.

I didn't mention that I have an unhealthy obsession with Deuchars IPA aswell!

And on a sad note, I don't know if you knew this already but Belhaven has been taken over by Greene King. So no more good beer.

PINT of Stella, mate!
19-11-2005, 01:50 AM
I can't believe you just mentioned Jaffa Cakes!

You Absolute Arsehole!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's late here in melbourne, I've run out of decent munchies so have moved on to the biccies and I've really only got a choice of a couple of rich teas which go great with a cuppa but not so great with a beer and some weird cinnamon flavoured dutch things that one of my flatmates got....

I would quite happily kill every single person in the apartment block for a couple of Jaffa's right now!

The most infuriating thing is that my local supermarkets all stock McVities products but it's always restricted to packets of Hob-Nobs (both choc and plain) and Diggers (ditto)!

I've also got issues with crisp flavours here but I'll save that for another time!

Fatman
19-11-2005, 01:55 AM
So I shouldn't say I've already eaten half a pack?

Oh, well moving on to crisps, Roast Beef and Mustard, there's not enough of them for mine.
Pork Scratchings? I find a bit hit and miss but the good ones are great.
Couldn't tempt you with a few Jammie Dodgers or possibly Penguins?:D

I'll shut up now.

PINT of Stella, mate!
19-11-2005, 02:03 AM
Nah, I'm pretty sure Arnotts do a similar biccy to the Jammy Dodger and even if they don't I'm not too bothered and as for the Penguin, well they're just bigger and older versions of Tim-Tams. I'm not going to debate which is better as I have seen this argument escalate before between backpackers and locals and to be honest, people lost eyes and fingers last time !

Fair enough. In regard to a previous post though, we're starting to get that icy weather down here. Black ice and frost, but no sleet or snow...... YET!
If anyone wants me, I'll be at the Pub.:p

PINT of Stella, mate!
19-11-2005, 02:14 AM
Have fun at the pub, mate, and beware of the black ice(especially walking home from said pub!)!

T'was my mortal enemy when I were a young paperboy...
