Byron Bay area trails

Am planning a week up around byron bay, north coast nsw early next year. Are there any nearby trails around there worthy of flying the bike up for from Melbourne?? thanks....

Nerang national park...........i think thats how you spell it.Its about 1 hour from byron,you should be able to find out some stuff on the web.Also give the local boys at the byron bike shop a call there cool and they oftern orginise rides up to nerang.In mta mag nerang n p is considerd an mtb meka.Doggi.................

I also forgot to mention thers this place in the hills of byron called mill rd its realy over grown through lack of use but has some realy fast single track and can be realy fun .Its a shame because the place has so mutch protential.Oh one other thing raw energy do bike tours but they dont let you take your bike and the tours are anice day out but are a bit lame if you ride most of the time.........Doggi again...........
