Just built this up at work. A cool $2200 for a BMX.
By all accounts a nice bike, but why the hefty tag?
Because it has glow-in-the-dark pedals, duh!

very farking nice, are you the proud owner
RCOH, the price tag would be that much as it is a custom build and with the quality parts it easily gets up that high when you think that frames are about $600-800, cranks $300-400 and wheels $300+
not hard to burn money on any type of bike:o
and if it's not yours j5ive, did you build it for a park rider?

Fark, must be an expensive frameset!
Very nice. Must build myself a reasonably light park/street BMX soon, and a nice steel racebike would be good too...

$2200 is the rrp of all the bits.
$600 frame
$600 wheel set
$300 cranks
$200 forks
$150 bars etc
She adds up quick. And its just for stock, I'm going to get clint to sign it next time he's through.

Fark, BMX stuff is expensive to buy separate!
I'd be buying something like a Specialized Fuse IV (pretty similar spec level, $990 complete) and stripping for parts, then slotting it all onto that frame/fork/bars.
j5ive
25-11-2005, 02:51 PM
Yeah, but that would be no where near as cool.
The fuse for 06 was a let down. They could have changed something.

Mmmmm, very tasty indeed!
Got a crank length by any chance?
I love the colour scheme on it, at first glance it seemed rather odd, but after having a closer look ive concluded it looks damn good.

holly shit, thats my fucking drea, i love those frames.
SPEC, TELL US THE SPEC!
im guessing some odyssey parts (linear cable, jim c pedals, hazard hubs, hazard light rims, evolver brake caliper, milk bars and thermal forks), WTP (miller frame, royal cranks?), primo (spokes) and perhaps some snafu (armstrong stem, chuck light sprocket, j bar seat post)
???
oh, and weight, whats the weight?

this has had me wondering for a while...
what is the logic behind having the brake in that position? obviously it is more protected but wouldn't it make the brake more flexy having it pulling away from the frame rather than pushing down with the frame backing it?

For a BMX bike that look's really nice, but...$2200!!!! You could build a decent DJ bike for that!
Love the paintjob.

Top ride Johnny, great spec. must come in around 28lb or so?
Get it weighed, I built up a similar Miller just recently but with Berringer LT bar and WTP "Helium" fork.
They`re an awesome frame geometry, and best of all Aussie designed.
That chain dude is a KMC "Kool" Chain, comes in 3/32 & 1/8 been around for awhile now, I prefer the KMC "Extreme" 410H. It seems to hold up the best.
By the way people, the Miller Lite will be avail. in 21" by Feb. next year, this one is a 20.6 which is from the first drop.
5.3lbs is farkin light for a kickass dirt/street frame.

putting the brake mount on the top gives more clearence for the chain so you can run a smaller ratio

yeah i thought it was his as soon as you said clint i just wanted to check. would definitly have to agree with you there and its so good when they are great blokes and easy to get along with. yeah i saw him ride at the bike show at melb last year and was super good there.

but why there rather than on top of the seat stay?
to tell you the truth, i dont know, im sure theres a reason though. they have them on the top for V brakes (race BMXs) but not on U brakes (street/DJ BMXs) but i dont know why. im sure theres a good reason though.

Because it has glow-in-the-dark pedals, duh!
They don't glow, they're the "Sea Foam" LE pedals, the glow in the dark ones were baby blue.
Rod: $2200 isn't that bad; I just built up an FBM Deployer for a customer, his build should be at least few hundred more that that.
Jonny: That's a top looking rig.

From the pics it looks to me like:
Pro Dirt forks (the new, lighter ones)
WTP Royal cranks
Hazard Lite rims on Hazard hubs with Shadow Conspiracy tires (and coloured spokes, why does Bill only have them for 20" wheels?:( )
Snafu Armstrong Lite stem
Snafu Outpost post
Snafu C-Lever
Snafu Bar plugs
Snafu sprocket
Cielinkis in Sea Foam
Linear Slic cable (the green is nice, but the LE colours are stupid expensive)
Evolver caliper
WTP seat
Civilian bars?
Probably an Impact headset?
How did I go Jonny?:)

yea, when someone said they were glow in the dark it i was thinking that was weird. ive got the glow in the dark ones on my bmx and only thought they came in baby blue.

i concur. 2200 aint to bad for the best of the best bmx (well, nearly) when you can easily spend a good 15000+ on a mtb if you went all out.

The original LE glow-in-the-dark cielenkis were actually quite similar in colour to the sea-foam green. The blue ones are the second g-i-t-d LE that they've done.
Nice bike.
