shit bike? care to explain?

Its hot... even tho i dont ride bmx's its still a hot bike... im keen to get one tho....

You just gotta keep in mind the rilvalry between mtb's and bmx'rs.. some ppl r really narrow minded and therefore will come up with comments like its a sh*t bike.. rather than something positive! But dont listen to them... its hot!

If you're going to bag some one's pride and joy, at least either be polite about it or give some reason as to why. I find your post pointless and arrogant.

I too see a BMX and a fairly tidy one.
but what else did I spy in pic1, but a tramapoline

C'mon Roasted, lets see what happens you mix a Tramapoline, a BMX and a video camera! :D

Note: the way I spelt tramapoline was not an error or typo, if Homer says it that way it's good enough for me!

When you say the Hoffman is long, how long exactly is that? I'd buy a BMX if I could fine one that was long enough for a 6'4" person.

21" TT, nice and roomy. a mate of mine who is 6"4 was previously sworn against BMX's, and now he wants one.

that said, if it still feels too short, you could get a macneil deuce-deuce, which is a 22" toptubed frame.

why's everyong dissing his bmx. its a sick bike and bmx is better for park. anyone ever see freight train? "mountain bike is designed for what natural terrain and dj's. bmx's should be kept to street and park" - or something along those lines:p

Orgasmic. Looks pretty stealth in the black too!
Question though: Why the Gyro? Why not just run a straight cable? An Oddessy outer with an xt cable or something similar, with enough length to spin twice would be bang on the money imo...
*Wants Bmx of the Fit or Specialized kind*

roasted
20-12-2005, 06:58 PM
why not the gyro? not running a gyro is a trendwhore thing.

The gyro does not make the headset any less smooth, and is set up so well that it works better than most bmx brakes with straight cables.

Straight cable is just another trend. this is more convenient, performs as well, if not better, and is only marginally heavier.

i cant decide weather to take my gyro and run a straight cable...gyro is more conveniant and myn runs very smootly

Well if u can get a good detangler like the one you have there to work aswell as a non-stretching cable (like the ones that are unaffected by being coiled) then keepit. They are worth a fair bit especially when it is sealed like yours! or just get a WTP slickline. Btw thats a nice bMx. All you need is Slams...

Loove the new Prymo Powerbites. I reckon a brown Oddysey(sp) Linear Cable would look sweet but that's a personal opinion thing. Get some Brown Oddysey 41 Thermal. Go the brown theme. Sweet bike without my upgrades anyway also I love the Front Sprocket.

Pretty nice roasted.. the complete hoffmans are just about spot on hey!

I should try and get a pic up of my bmx (my main ride, has been since i got it, mtb is going this weekend:eek: ) tommorow, Ive got one but taken at a stupidly small resolution for some reason.. Basically parts list is

Frame: 20.75" Fit TeamXL (Possibly getting a new frame at this years bikeshow if stowaways booth has anything going for cheap)
Forks: Macneil ID
Bars: S&M Slam Bars
Stem: Fly Pontencia
Seat: All black odyssey junior
Cranks: Stock fit ones.. bent spindle...
Pedals: Wellgo LU-A52 Sealed, soo good!! Quite similar design to trailkings
Sprocket: 28t Odyssey Vermont
Front Wheel: RhynoliteXL lace to a WTP Pi 3/8" Front Axle
Rear Wheel: Odyssey 7Ka just laced up to a normal hazard cassete w/10t driver
Tires: Just run two odyssey paths, 1.85 rear and 2.1 front. Sick of arseing about with primo tyres

Thats basically it i think, how do you find the 21" tt? Im 6 foot 1 and im thinking of going a tad shorter than my current frame probably a 20.5 with a 74* head angle..

Also with the gyro, ever thought of thinking going dual upper (dragonfly gemini dual uppers)? and dual lower cables using an odyssey london mod if you dont have two cable guides and just using slic cables? Loads of people use it, has way more adjustability as you have two barrel adjusters going to each brake arm so if you cant be arsed messing around with spring tension when trying to get pads to hit at the same time you can just fiddle with an adjuster.. Also way more stiffer feel as you dont have to go thru those dirrrtty splitters!

Haha smiddy no way would I personally EVER go back to a dia-compe lever like a tech 77 or a dirty harry (ran both of them at different times)! The dirty harry was disgusting to use and the tech77 stripped out on me because of the stupid thread they tapped into an aluminium body which never lines up right :p The replaceable hardware in the odysseys is soo good.

Sorry for going off topic man, a bit bored and good to see another bmx on here haha!
