about 14 or 15, went to school with jared and started riding with him after school. God we had some fun times, and some halarious conversations (/me thinks of all the girls we talked about). Then i got into downhill after jared did, and bought his raceline pro dh off him for mates rates.

Well, the whole craze started when I wanted to ride motocross bikes after having seen a couple of Motocross videos. But I knew i wouldnt be able to afford one. At that time I still had m K-Mart dunlop, so i thought of doing jumps and stuff on that. So after a while I attempted this 9 foot gap jump on it and came up short and bent its front forks. After that, I didnot have a ride for a week untill I bought a 02 mongoose rockadile sx, that kept stuffin up so i constantly had to take it back to the shop. I was pissed off with them and they were pissed off with me so i got my money back, and now I have a better more honest lbs, i mean, what kind of an excuse is "oh sorry, the chain isnot compatible with the bike". After that issue i got my Giant Rincon. Yea so i bought that with a nasty 75mm of SR suntour travel, :). It lasted me 6 months before I snapped the derraileur hanger. Yea i get my bike back a week later and contine riding as per normal. Finally I snap my hanger again, okay no problem dish out another 35 dollard and get it fixed. 2 days later, snap, again. Now i cant ride my bike. Because its a snglespeed, its threading in the crankarms is destroyed, rear wheel axle is bent and the derraileur is bent. So yea, Im finally buying a decent bike. A P.2 :) I hope t god that it holds up well, which I am shure it will.

Started about a year ago, when i got my 2nd bike ever. First time i had ridden since i was 11. Im 20 now. I was just bored at work one day and thought, gee i really feel like rideing a bike. So i did a bit of research and bought a good hardtail MTB, then hooked up with the guys on the Saturday Club rides and iv been hooked ever since. Never to late to start i recon.

Raced BMX and MX from the age of 8-9......stopped riding through my teen years........rode various bikes(moto and non) on and off for a few years..........got the itch to do some more MX when i was about 24ish and bought another MXer.........couple of years later i decided a MTB would be a good way to get into better shape so i bought a Merida Dakar and found some local trails.......i now own 2 MTBs and can never decide wether i want to go DHing or MXing.......it's tough having these choices :wink:

Bought my first mountain bike back in '83. It was a mindblowing 15 speed (I don't think 18 speed was out yet where I was living). It was by a now long extinct brand called BRC. I paid nearly $400 for it. There was another MTB there for about $600. I couldn't believe someone could spend so much on a bike.

Spent all my time trying to ride anything that wasn't paved. I was 11. Broke the forks a few years later trying to jump over a 4 foot ditch. Burly.

i rode my mates coisins 98 warp for a day and was hooked. id know i was gonna get a bike ages before that, but i was just waiting to sell my motie. which i never did and ive still got it now. so i realised i was never gonna do that so i saved up 800 bucks and my parents chipped in 600 and i got the stinky. been riding that for about 3 months, now im selling that and my CR and im gonna get a hell crazy bike

Rode BMX (dirt jumping and street) for about 3-4 years until I was about 17. I then stopped riding altogether for almost 3 years (HSC time) Then about 18 months ago my friend who was previously an MTB'er came up with the idea to get MTBs for a bit of fun (Now that we both had jobs and could afford them). So we did and haven't looked back since! He is still on his '01 Giant AC1 (not many original parts left!) and I traded my 01' Speialized Enduro for an '02 BigHit Pro and loving it.

i'v been riding for about 9 years or so. and it was just a,progression form ride bmx bikes off road. but i never raced bmx. and now i race dh and have for the last 4 years.

i have ahd many an adventure getting lost in the state forests around the traps. my dad did ride with me and me brother when we where younger but stoped cause he couldn't handel the downhill stuff that we liked. and he never did shutels for us either .oh well thats my story.

I'm so old that when I started riding there werent even mountain bikes (that guy Fisher wasn't the only one). We used to get the oxy out and braze bracing onto single speed rattlers, chuck a Sturmy Archer 4 speed hub in the back and just GO SICK !

after a couple of years not riding a bike i got back into riding when i turned 21. Bought a Giant Warp 2. broke two frames then giant gave me a giant atx990. last year i had my bmx and xc bike stolen and insurance paid for a brand new kona stinky. So i've been riding for almost 4 years now.

ive been riding since i was 7 yrs old, started off with some cheap kids bike, couple years later got a bmx, 12 yrs old i sold that bmx and got a mountain bike, full rigid malvern star, last week i got a norco one25 2003

I acctually just started last week.... that is for this season of course. But otherwise Ive been riding 3-4 years now, but this is only my 2nd of DH. Otherwise its just been making jumps and riding around, just doing stupid stuff with friends.

I started riding seriously back in Cairns around 1995 on an old rigid Avanti, riding the sweet networks of trails that cut through the old worlds site, which was about a 10 minute ride from my house. Got bitten by the bug, upgraded to a Specialised FSR with the money I made working for slave wages at Eagle Boys and didn't stop riding til early 1999 when cars, girls and rugby took over my free time. Got back into riding again about 10 months ago with a DMR Trailstar and now wonder "Why did I waste those years, I should have been riding". Nowdays I try and get a ride in at least 5 days a week, even if it's just at the skatepark and it still gives me the same big stupid grin I used to get when I first started.
P.S: festerburton; That's about the most old-school thing I've ever heard from an Aussie, you've earned my undying respect.

i have been riding since i was like um 3 or 4??? any ways one day when i was in years 7 i think there was a drop porlly about 1 foot and thats when it started :D i have just started to race and have been riding for ummm *counts with his fingers* :lol: DAM! 5 years... hehe i took a stab and thought 3.. and yeah thats how it started now i have done a 9 foot to flat never again but hurts tooo much :cry:
