Is it just me or are these things pretty soft?

I've only had them a few weeks and the rear one is looking really average, with 3 major dents already. Even the front rim has a few dings - I don't think I've ever achieved that before. I've tried running higher pressure but the rocks still get through. I'm hoping it's just bad luck.

Anyone know how much these rims are worth?... at this rate I'll need one every month or two.

soft as. Reasonably smooth friend of mine had them for four days, 7 huge dents in the rear rim, several of which you could see the tyres bead behind. Never had this problem with 729's or 721's.

Yep these seem to suck hardcore.

I've heard of so many people beating up the front 6.1D now, after totalling the rear. Usually front rims don't get a mark on them, even at low pressures. Doesn't say much for the rims at all.

They are obviously just no good.
The claimed weight seems to be a lie (real weight is ~640g)
The price is way too high ($175 or so)
And they don't seem to hold up for shit.

I'd STRONGLY recommend replacing the rims with mavic EX721cd's once they are ready to go. They are $120 each, and the money you save can go towards some nice spokes and nipples. Oh, and the fact that you'll probably never have to replace one again. Oh, and 50 grams less. Oh, and no more dents/flatspots.

Seriously.

I absolutely flogged the one on the back of my DH bike, yet the ones on my 4x bike and the front of my DH bike are fine. I'm giving another one a go on the back of the DH bike to make my mind up, and if needs be i'll go back to 721s.

For $175 there's no way I'll be buying one. They came standard on a new bike so it's a bit annoying that they'll need to be replaced soon. Looks like it's back to Mavic 721.

I heard about that today actually... not cool.
