I've got a pair of Fox 40RC2's and I thinking of getting some 06 Boxxer Worldcups.
What are your thoughts.

I think for the money you'd loose you could invest in better performance gaining areas.Front forks don't really do that much once you have over seven inches of quallity travell. Is there a particular reason you're weighing up this option?
Personally as just a hack I find Boxxers flexy.

I've ridden both kinds of forks...Well pushed up and down on them, and In my opinion the fox 40's are better?

Fox 40's look sexy
boxxers look weedy
they are probably the same sort of fork but why ride when you can ride in sttyllleeee

I'm yet to find a fork that works as well as the 40s. Boxxers are good, but they have nothing on the way the fox feels.

That's why you've ditched the 40s for Boxxers eh :)

Hahaha - busted! Daver has a conflicting arguement...
But why sit on the fence Squid - what would you choose?

Same reason i ditched dorados to go to Foxes... they got fucked. At least you can't screw up boxxers no matter how hard you try.

i'm sure the fox's are a awesome fork
but too much wind resistance on the fox 40's
they are huge like shivers dc
but they weigh the same as boxxers
i don't think you would go wrong with either fork
but for me i'd go the boxxers
If we are talking 06 40's (which would be fair), I don't think anyone has managed to break the updated 2nd gen lowers yet. Correct me if i'm wrong there.
I've had a ride on two 06 WC's and many 40's now and have to say I prefer the feel of the 40's. There is a much more linear feel, and while the new boxxers are pretty damn good in terms of smoothness, I think the 40 tops it fairly easily.
On the other hand the WC is lighter (2767g vs 3082g) and a little cheaper, my suggestion would be to ride both and see what you like.
But if you already own a 40, damn i'd keep the thing. Check what model lowers you have - small circles on the back of the brake arch will have numbers indicating this. 04 = old, 05 = new. If you have the old, upgrade when it breaks.

Boxxer Boxxer and Boxxer. Have been a fan since 03 and never looked back. I'm all for a simple yet effective systems, hence why I like single-pivots too. The weight bit is just a bonus.
As for why i'd choose em over a 40... well I prefer to twist my crowns then crack my lowers. Ramping in the last 30% of the travel is also a welcome feature.
And for all the Fox lovers who wanna bag me ... I run a DHX on the rear and it is teh awsum!11!one!!!

If you already have foxes just keep em. Spend your money on a new set of wheels instead. I had to make the same choice on my new ride and I went boxxers. Thought I'd give air sprung a go...Having said that though I haven't owned boxxers before and 36's are going on the HT. So I guess I'm a fence sitter too. Is there room on that fence for me too?

You must admit the Fox 40's are a big fork
compared to Boxxers

Consider it that I concur.
But the difference in size would make ZERO difference to speed. You've go to admit that.

Wow, I thought you were joking.
Please tell me you're not serious, maybe you belong on a roadie instead...

i was just comparing size of the fox 40's to the size of the Boxxer's and the 40's are definitely a big fork and the first thing that came into my mind was wind resistance
there might be something in it but
i admit probably nothing noticeable enough
to make a fig of a difference
with the weight of both forks much the same
still all in all i prefer the boxxers
