Why do you want DJ1s?

Well, the brown ones are 05s and the white ones 06. Do you care what year they are?

PS. Get pikes.

Try learning how to ride off gutters before mocking marzocchi forks. The fact is you dont like marzocchi forks because having no need for them probably.

Ide get white for your YZO, it would look trick white frame white forks, have you considered any other forks though?, how much are you getting the dj1's for?

Aparantly (sp?) the 2006 (white) DJI is a lot lighter that the 05 DJI. But you should be able to find an 05 DJI cheaper so have a look around and take your pick. Btw the white would look sweet with the YZ0

you cannot be serious mate, i have ridden 50+ varieties of marzocchi forks, including different years, models and purposes.

99% of them feel like complete crap, take the 2006 kona skinky for example, have you ridden one, no doubt you havent, the forks top out harsher than your landing skills straight out of the box. Thats filthy for a brand name like marzocchi. I work in a pretty repuatble shop in melbourne and have tried so many marzocchi forks its crazy, the entire dirt jumper series of forks weighs 30% more than a set of pikes, feels 300% worse, has close to no adjustment, and still breaks (if previous year models are anything to go by)

For the price, manitou and rock shox forks feel sooo much better, are stronger, weigh less, are easier to service and look better than any marzocchi fork out there.

The only forks i have ever liked that marzocchi have made were 02/03 super t's and 02/03 shivers (both series of forks have the same internals) anything newer than that and marzocchi have gone downhill

Even the new 888's arent that great, boxxers and 40's dominate them hard.

And as for the topic of my riding ability, i dont even need to defand myself to a 14 year old immature noob with no idea what he is talking about and who is more concearned about how bigger huck he has done and how much travel dj3's have. Maybe you can trade them for some dirt jam comps ey??

Orrr yep. Any further questions?

Oh, and he shouldnt need to consider any other fork, because marzocchis are the best right...?

Hey Guys so far so good and as for price range the DJ1's are in it. I am currntly stearing towards the white but i am still trying to get the best prise posable.
If you have any idea of some forks that are as good and a strong as the DJ1's then please let me know as i really wanna get a knew pair soon.
the main types of riding i am doing is street and a litle bit of dirt jumping but i really put the bike through its paces when i am out riding street.

I've ridden 1, 2005 DJ3's and they are one of the best forks i've ridden, sure others have adjustability, but for a greater price.

The forks on a Kona Stinky are nothing like DJ1's, in fact they are bottom of the range drop offs, not even comparable to DJ1's unless you group them under the name 'marzocchi'. The bloke is clearly set on getting DJ1's, he just wants to know which colour everything thinks would be the best.

In my opinion marzocchi have the best looking forks around, and are also the strongest, which is a by product of their weight.

Yes.

p.s. Get White.

You've probably only ridden one set of forks full stop then.

Thje bottom of the range drop off's are like 99% of other forks, the other 1% are 888's, which feel mediocre at best.

Compared to pikes, dj1's:

- DJ1's Have an air chamber adjustment
- Pikes have Rebound/Compression/Floodgate/Travel and internal damping via and oil change

- DJ1's weigh something like 600g more

- I have never seen a broken set of pikes, i have seen broken dropouts, arch's and stanchions on DJ forks.

-dj 1's rrp at around $1100
-Pikes at $899 rrp

why would you ever buy marzocchi?

Theres actually about 450g in it on the DJ1s... DJ2 and 3 are heavier though.

Id buy a DJ3 if i were a street/dj rider on a budget, then after that on the DJ2, price is comparable to a Pike, so you may aswell go the 'better' pike.

DJ_Robbie

dj 3's still rrp at something like 750, why not pay $150 more for pikes that have so much better everything?

I sold the marzocchi DJs I had on my P-bike, and decided to chuck on some '04 U-turn Judy SL's I had kicking around.
No more stupid long axle-crown measurements, and I can wind them down to about 70mm (from 115mm), which makes it nice, short low and steep. Plus I've dropped over 750g in one hit, compared to the DJs - which brings it down to just under 15kg, not so bad for a bike with chromoly cranks, gears etc.

Only downside is they do need heavier springs (easy fixed), and they have substantially less offset/trail than the marzocchis which means I buzz my foot occasionally which didn't happen before.

dont usually like quoting people but this kinda proves my point, floody runs XC rock shox forks over DJ's.
I wonder what that implies.

I would just like to put this in and say that i can get brand new a set of
DJ1 2006 for $805
DJ1 2005 for $655
I havent even looked at pikes as they dont look anywear near as strong as the DJs. how much would a set of the pikes be priced around as i am not to sure.

I'm also looking at upgrading my dirt jam pro's, i was looking at a pair of 2004 sherman firefly's which seem similar to pikes, how much can you get a decent pair of pikes second hand? and any other good dj forks i should be looking at?

Sunday!

Marzocchi for 06 have given you a really low dj range.
They have tried to cut down in weight with alloy steerer and pined crowns.

05 dj1's are imo some of the best dj forks out there, and if not them then 05 dj 2's

why not go and buy an 05 dj1 spend 30 buks and get them painted white.

As for pikes, they feel nice but if your not buying them with warranty then i wouldn't go near them

I would never touch another pair of marzocchi djs in my life i had some and they broke djing in 6 months and they feel shit have hardley any ajustibility and weigh a tonne

then i got some shermans they where pretty good excpt for the creaking and they felt soo much better than the djs

now i have pikes best forks ever pretty cheap aswell (650 from torpedo7) feel the best have soo many ajustments and are pretty strong and ive had them for 4 months and they are perfect and still feel like new

also djs have a bad reputation for braking i have herd of sooo many broken djs and they said they fixed the problem for 04 and some still broke
