Ok. Now I probably already know the answer to this question but here goes anyway.
Take a look at this pic:

So, my question is, can this be part be fixed/replaced or is my brake pretty much farked and I need to buy a new set?
:(
Thanks

thats the piston out off a hayes brake if im not mistaken??
if it is then go to you lbs and ask them to put in a new piston for you, i killed mine not too long ago, and Phantom Cycles (www.phantomcycles.com) fixed it for me for $30-35 inc piston replace kit and labour.
how did you break it anyway??

Yep. Thats the piston alright.
For some reason it didn't move much when I squeezed my lever so I tried to "mechanically" lever it with a screw driver. I don't know if it was farked already or whether I broke it! :(

just give you lbs a call tommrow morning and ask them if they have a hayes piston replacement kit and how much it cost em to install, it comes with piston and all seals, shouldnt be more than $40
